The last episode of Lucha Underground featured one of the most brutal matches to take place in the Temple: the Weapons of Mass Destruction match between Marty “The Moth” Martinez and Killshot. Killshot would end up victorious after taking out Martinez and his sister, Mariposa. With such a high-impact episode last week, how will this week follow-up?
Opening Segment
Rey Mysterio and El Dragon Azteca Jr. are training in a ring backstage, showing that Azteca has fully healed since Pentagon Dark broke his arm at Ultima Lucha Dos. They are interrupted by Chavo Guerrero, who asks Mysterio if he has taught Azteca about the Guerrero family. If he hasn’t, perhaps Chavo will do it for him.
In-ring Segment
Two weeks ago, Dario Cueto revealed his newest concept of them all: Dario’s Dial of Doom. This dial features names of luchadores who has no faced Matanza Cueto previously. Whoever the dial lands on gets a spontaneous opportunity at the Lucha Underground Championship, and their name taken off of the wheel. Son of Havoc would be the first “lucky winner,” and he would end up losing to Matanza. Tonight, Dario’s Dial of Doom lands on The Mack.
Matanza Cueto (c) vs. The Mack – Lucha Underground Championship
We have not seen The Mack in quite some time, but his return tonight could be huge. The Mack cancels the size advantage that Matanza usually has, but the champion’s strength is still unmatched. What The Mack has going for him, however, is his surprisingly agility. Even though he is one of the larger competitors in the Temple, The Mack acts like wrestlers that are half his size.
The Mack hits an effective pounce on Matanza, then attempts to follow it up with a frog splash. Matanza blocks the frog splash by getting his knees up, then finishes The Mack off with the Wrath of the Gods to retain the title. Winner, and STILL Lucha Underground Champion: Matanza Cueto

Son of Havoc is recuperating at home from his loss to Matanza a couple weeks ago,
We shift to Dario Cueto’s office, where Johnny Mundo is complaining yet again about his lack of Lucha Underground Championship opportunities. Cueto offers him a shot at the Trios Championships, but Mundo is not interested. Instead, Taya replaces Mundo and joins PJ Black and
Texano vs. Cage
Before the match starts, Dario Cueto exits his office to announce that this match will not be for a unique opportunity. Instead, it will be for the “ultimate opportunity.” We will have to wait for the end of the match to find out what exactly that is.
After a vicious discus lariat, Cage puts Texano away and wins the ultimate opportunity. Winner: Cage
After the match, Dario Cueto announces that this was only Match One of a Best of Five series. The winner of that series will then be granted the ultimate opportunity.
Backstage Segment
El Dragon Azteca Jr. storms into Dario Cueto’s office to demand a match against Pentagon Dark. Because of the violent potential, Cueto “pencils it in.” Right before we cut away from El Jefe’s office, Chavo Guerrero enters and says that they need to talk.
Aerostar, Drago, & Fenix vs. Taya, PJ Black, & Jack Evans – Trios Championships
Aerostar, Drago, and Fenix defeated Johnny Mundo, PJ Black, and Jack Evans for the Trios Championships at Ultima Lucha Dos. With Taya in Mundo’s place, The Worldwide Underground hope to regain the Trios Championship titles.
Jack Evans goofs off the entire match, which pisses both PJ Black and Taya off. Black would tag in Evans by aggressively smacking his back, and Evans had enough so he sits at ringside. Taya tries to get Black and Evans to get their acts together, but to no avail. Aerostar hits PJ Black with a springboard Codebreaker to retain the Trios titles. Winners, and STILL Trios Champions: Aerostar, Drago, & Fenix
After the match, Johnny Mundo appears out of nowhere to attack the Trios Champions. Munro, Black, and Taya continue the assault in the ring, but Sexy Star evens up the odds. Getting revenge on the Worldwide Underground and saving the champions, the Gift of the Gods and Trios Champions stand tall to end in-ring show.
Backstage Segment
Rey Mysterio is now in El Jefe’s office, and Dario Cueto tells him a match for next week: El Dragon Azteca Jr. vs. Chavo Guerrero, with the winner facing Pentagon Dark. Since Mysterio has important relationships with both Azteca and Guerrero, Cueto makes Mysterio the special guest referee.
