Last week on Lucha Underground, there were four great matches. Prince Puma defeated Siniestro de la Muerte, Pentagon Dark defeated and broke the arm of Cortez Castro, and The Worldwide Underground won an Atomicos match against the Trios Champions (Drago, Aerostar, and Fenix) and Sexy Star. To main event the night, El Dragon Azteca Jr. defeated Chavo Guerrero while Rey Mysterio was the special guest referee.
Opening Segment
To kick off the show, Dario Cueto exits his office for the weekly installment of Dario’s Dial of Doom. The dial consists of names that have not faced Matanza Cueto, and whoever the dial lands on immediately faces El Jefe’s brother for the Lucha Underground Championship.
After spinning the wheel, the dial lands on none other than the first Lucha Underground Champion, Prince Puma. Puma lost the championship to Mil Muertes at Ultima Lucha, then he would have a stint with the Lucha Underground Trios Championships. A win for Puma tonight could make his feud with Mil Muertes even more interesting than it already is.
Ivelisse vs. Mariposa (w/Marty “The Moth” Martinez)
At the beginning of Season 3, Ivelisse already issued a challenge for Ultima Lucha Tres (there isn’t even a set date for the event yet). The self-professed “baddest bitch in the building” has had her problems, to say the least, with Catrina all throughout Season 2, and she competes tonight to start her training.
Mariposa is a good opponent for Ivelisse if she wants to take down Catrina. Mariposa debuted in a heated rivalry against Sexy Star, and had a hell of a “No Mas” match (an “I Quit” match, but in Spanish). She is one of the most psychotic and surprisingly dangerous competitors on the roster, male or female.
Somehow Marty “The Moth” Martinez is okay after the Weapons of Mass Destruction Match against Killshot a couple of weeks ago, and he uses his presence at ringside to interfere whenever he can. This doesn’t prevent Ivelisse from picking up the win, since she pulled out the sunset flip driver to put Mariposa away. Winner: Ivelisse
After the match, Martinez immediately rushes the ring and assaults Ivelisse alongside his sister.
Backstage Segment
Johnny Mundo keeps demanding a Lucha Underground Championship opportunity from Dario Cueto, who “doesn’t see it in the cards.” Mundo then suggests the Gift of the Gods Championship since his team defeated Sexy Star’s in an Atomicos match last week. Cueto agrees, and since Jack Evans pinned Sexy Star, he will get the title shot.
Cage vs. Texano – Best of Five Series
Last week, Dario Cueto offered an “ultimate opportunity” to Cage and Texano. Cage would end up defeating Texano, but Cueto would add a twist. In order to win the ultimate opportunity, they must defeat the other luchador three times. The only other Best of Five Series to occur in the Temple was between Drago and Aerostar, which featured some of the most memorable matches we have seen from Lucha Underground.
After hitting the Lucha Destroyer (essentially the F5), Cage pins Texano for his second consecutive victory. This puts Texano in three (at most) must-win situations. Winner: Cage

Matanza Cueto (c) (w/Dario Cueto) vs. Prince Puma – Lucha Underground Championship
Thanks to Dario’s Dial of Doom, Prince Puma sets on his quest to become the first-ever two-time Lucha Underground Champion. Matanza has never been defeated (including the no-contest against Mil Muertes), but if there’s anyone who can defeat “The Monster,” it is Prince Puma. However, Puma has not found success recently since he lost at Ultima Lucha Dos to the King of Lucha Libre, Rey Mysterio.
Prince Puma hits the 630 Splash on Matanza, and he gets speared out of nowhere by Mil Muertes. Official Marty Elias goes to call the disqualification, but Dario Cueto decides to make it no disqualification. After Muertes hands Matanza Prince Puma on a silver platter, the champion hits Wrath of the Gods on Puma to retain the Lucha Underground Championship.
