EPL Fantasy: Week 8 Lineup

Handing Manchester City its first loss of the season was an absolute statement from Tottenham that they are ready to contend with the best from the Premier League at the top of the table this season. Hotspurs will look to carry over the momentum from that victory this weekend with a favorable matchup versus West Brom and we are doubling down on their EPL fantasy potential in DraftKings competitions. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings EPL fantasy leagues.

GK: Hugo Lloris, Tottenham

Salary: $5,400

Tottenham is coming off a massive win over Manchester City to climb within a single point of the Premier League leaders and they will have an excellent opportunity to carry over the momentum from that victory versus West Brom this weekend. Lloris has been exceptional for Hotspurs including six saves in last week’s 2-0 win over City so he should be in line for another strong performance. The fact that he is still available at just $5.4K makes him an excellent goalkeeper option this weekend.

D: Toby Alderweireld, Tottenham

Salary: $4,200

It only makes sense to double down on Tottenham with a smart value play at the defender position and Alderweireld should be the perfect fit. While he hasn’t done anything at the offensive end of the pitch, Alderweireld has been an outstanding defender and is a big reason why Hotspurs has picked up four clean sheets through seven games. The clean sheet bonus should be in play this weekend so Alderweireld will be a strong value pick.

D: Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal

Salary: $3,900

No defender put up a better EPL fantasy score last weekend than Koscielny, who scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win over Burnley. Koscielny has shown flashes of his offensive potential with a pair of goals this season and yet he is still available at just $3.9K. Koscielny could produce at the offensive end but it’s his clean sheet potential that makes him a smart pick for this weekend.

M: Dele Alli, Tottenham

Salary: $8,600

Alli has been excellent for Hotspurs over their last four games with two goals and an assist over that span. The potential is also there for the lean sheet bonus to come in to play in a favorable matchup versus West Brom so it makes sense to bank on Alli as our top midfield option for this Saturday’s DraftKings tournaments.

M: Junior Stanislas, Bournemouth

Salary: $6,400

Bournemouth followed up a win over Everton with a draw versus Watford, so it’s safe to say they are trending in the right direction heading in to this weekend’s matchup with Hull City. Stanislas has certainly picked up his production with a goal and an assist in his last two games and at $6.4K, he is a very strong value play for Saturday’s DraftKings competitions.

F: Christian Benteke, Crystal Palace

Salary: $8,200

After a slow start to the season, Benteke has picked up the pace with three goals in his last four games for Crystal Palace. It should be no surprise that his club hasn’t lost over that span with three wins and a draw. Benteke should be in a favorable position to produce when Crystal Palace takes on West Ham this weekend and he is still available at a very reasonable $8.2K price tag on DraftKings.

F: Jermain Defoe, Sunderland

Salary: $7,900

Sunderland might be buried at the bottom of the Premier League table without a win but Defoe has shown flashes of his offensive potential again early on and his club could be in a favorable spot to pick up three points this weekend versus Stoke City. Defoe has four goals through seven games including a two-goal performance versus Crystal Palace a couple of weeks ago and at $7.9K, he is definitely worth a shot in DraftKings tournaments.

FLEX: Hector Bellerin, Arsenal

Salary: $5,200

After locking in the top producing EPL fantasy defender in the Premier League in Koscielny, it only makes sense to take a chance on Bellerin as well with $5.4K left over to spend on our final FLEX position. Only Koscielny and Tottenham’s Kyle Walker have a better EPL fantasy score at their position so far this season and a favorable matchup should make Bellerin a lock for a strong performance in Saturday’s DraftKings competitions.
