After one week off for the international break, the Premier League returns this weekend beginning with seven games on the schedule for Saturday. Manchester City will face a tough test from Everton following their first loss of the season while Tottenham and Arsenal hope to take advantage with a chance to leapfrog them for top spot in the Premier League table. Here is a look at the optimal lineup for Saturday’s DraftKings EPL fantasy leagues.
GK: Hugo Lloris, Tottenham
Salary: $5,400
Hotspurs are coming off their most impressive win of the season by far after shutting out Manchester City 2-0 in the week before the break. Now Tottenham gets the opportunity to build on that performance when they take on West Brom. Hotspurs has won four straight and the last time we saw Lloris he stopped all six shots he faced to preserve the clean sheet win over City. This should be an even more favorable matchup for a rested Tottenham side so we are expecting a similar result.
D: Toby Alderweireld, Tottenham
Salary: $4,300
It only makes sense to roll with at least one Hotspurs defender and Alderweireld makes the most sense based on his role with the club and his price tag on DraftKings. Alderweireld has shown some decent production from the defender position and at just $4.3K he is the perfect fit in our lineup for Saturday. Tottenham has allowed just three goals so far this season, which is by far the fewest in the Premier League. They’re a solid source when you’re looking at clean sheets in EPL fantasy.
D: Laurent Koscielny, Arsenal
Salary: $3,900
Speaking of strong value plays on the back end, Koscielny is another solid fit at under $4K for this weekend. Koscielny has shown flashes of his offensive potential early on this season including the lone goal in Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Burnley their last time out so he is the perfect compliment to Alderweireld on our back end. Arsenal has given up seven goals through seven games so far this season.
M: Dele Alli, Tottenham
Salary: $8,600
Alli has been a consistent force in the Hotspurs midfield early on this season and we expect his production to continue in a favorable matchup versus West Brom this weekend. At $8.6K, he is a very reasonable addition as a star talent at a decent price tag.
M: Son Heung-Min, Tottenham
Salary: $7,600
It might come as a surprise to some that Son is Tottenham’s highest-scoring EPL fantasy player regardless of position so far this season and one of the highest scoring midfielders in the Premier League. That makes him an outstanding value at under $8K for this weekend’s DraftKings contests and one more reason why we opted to stack the Hotspurs players.
F: Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal
Salary: $10,100
Sanchez is the most expensive option on our roster but considering that he leads all Premier League players in EPL fantasy points so far this season regardless of position it makes sense that we turn to him in this spot. Sanchez has the potential to register at least a couple of points when the Gunners take on Swansea City so it is worth spending a little more in order to get him in our DraftKings lineup this weekend.
F: Callum Wilson, Bournemouth
Salary: $6,800
With Sanchez listed at over $10K, we clearly needed a lower priced option to fill out our second forward spot and we found an excellent value with Wilson. Bournemouth has shown signs of life with three goals in its last two games so it’s worth taking a chance on Wilson versus Hull City on Saturday.
FLEX: Winston Reid, West Ham United
Salary: $3,400
With just $3.4K left over to spend on our final FLEX position, it simply came down to finding the player with the highest upside that we could still afford in this spot. Reid fit the bill as a productive EPL fantasy defender and it helps that West Ham United has a decent matchup this week versus Crystal Palace. We are confident in Reid’s potential as the final play on our board so lock him in as a strong FLEX play for Saturday.
