It’s the team everyone hates, the New England Patriots (16-2), against the team we suddenly all love, the Atlanta Falcons (13-5), in Super Bowl LI in Houston. Both history and justice are on the line today and God help us if Those Assholes win.
It’s the Super Bowl, for God’s sake, America’s third favorite holiday after Christmas and Halloween.

QUOTES FROM SUPER BOWL LI EDITION OF NFL NETWORK’S NFL GAMEDAY MORNING
NFL GameDay Morning is the most comprehensive pregame show on Sunday morning, airing at 9:00 AM on NFL Network and taking viewers straight up to kickoff. Host Rich Eisen joins analysts Steve Mariucci, Marshall Faulk, Kurt Warner and Michael Irvin to bring fans the latest news, injury reports, pregame analysis and game previews. Additionally, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport provides the latest inside information from around the league, and analytics expert Cynthia Frelund joins in-studio. LI
-“You don’t get here and make that kind of a jump without having an MVP-type performance from your quarterback. Matt Ryan has been a really good quarterback in this league for a long time, but this year he became a great quarterback.” — Kurt Warner
-“If you have to motivate somebody to play in this game, they shouldn’t be in the locker room or in a uniform. This team does the best job at finding all the different motivational tools, regardless of what it is, and putting those things in the mix to get guys fired up.” — Willie McGinest on the Patriots’ motivation LI
-“What makes Tom Brady great is his mental ability to slow time down and make decisions so fast.” — Jordan Spieth
-“You can’t say he’s playing some of the best football at 39 that we’ve ever seen at that age. No, he’s playing some of the best football that people have ever seen at any age.” — LeBron James on Tom Brady
-“Matt Ryan has to make the conscious effort to throw the ball to Julio regardless of what happens.” — Marshall Faulk
-“You could take any one of those teams that the Patriots have, and you put them against one of the teams I played on in the ‘90s, this wouldn’t have even been a game. We would have wiped the floor with them.” — Michael Irvin
-“If you were to put it to Matt Ryan … If he had to keep only one, Alex Mack or Julio Jones, I think he’d take Alex Mack.” — Brian Billick
-“Julio Jones is not just special. Julio Jones is the most complete receiver in the National Football League.” — Steve Smith
-“He’s a dog. He reminds me a lot of yourself, Steve [Smith] … He has those intangibles to be one of the best in the business.” — Deion Sanders on Julian Edelman
The game is on FOX and it’s the most watched event of the year. You might as well watch it with me. I’ll make jokes, provide analysis, and share the best stuff I come across on twitter.
