English Premier League Round 36 – Two Match Preview

English Premier League

We have prepared for you another interesting double match preview with an in-depth analysis of the Round 36 of the English Premier League in order to win some easy bucks. Let’s take a closer look at the matches that will be played at the Dean Court and at the Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

BOURNEMOUTH AFC vs. STOKE CITY FC

3-Way: 1: Bournemouth AFC +125; X: +260 Draw; 2: Stoke City FC +250

Spread -0.5: Bournemouth AFC +125; Stoke City FC -132

Total +2.5: Over -118; Under +116

BOURNEMOUTH AFC

The Bournemouth AFC team currently ranks 10th in the English Premier League table with 41 points in 35 matches. They are in the “golden middle” of the table meaning that they’ve secured the survival and that they are out of the race for European competitions next year.

The Cherries are 4-2-2 in last eight games and they are 3-0-1 in the last four home games. Overall record at home is 8-3-6 with 31-26 goal difference (50-63 overall) and they rank 13th in the home league table with 27 of 51 possible points earned. Bournemouth scores 1.82 and concedes 1.53 goals at home (1.43-1.80 overall) and 59% of their home matches had over 2.5 goals while 53% of their home matches had over 3.5 goals in total. Most common results at home are 1:3 loss and 1:0 win (both occurred three times).

Joshua King tops the team in scoring with 15 goals while Benik Afobe and Callum Wilson have six each. Junio Stanislas is the leading assister with five while passing segment belongs to Harry Arter with 1669 total passes. Goalkeepers Adam Federici (two appearances) and Artur Boruc (33 appearances) collected 114 saves and they have 10 games with clean sheets combined.

Adam Federici (Cartilage Knee), Callum Wilson (ACL Knee), Jack Wilshere (Leg), Dan Gosling (Calf) and Benik Afobe (Hamstring) are all listed as major doubts for Saturday while Andrew Surman is expected to be out until at least May 13th.

STOKE CITY FC

The Stoke City FC is also pretty much set up when it comes to the season goals as they are ranked two spots below their next opponent with 40 points in 35 games in the English Premier League. The Potters are also in a pretty poor form lately with only one win in last eight games (1-2-5) and they haven’t won a game on the road since January 14th.

They are 0-1-3 in the last four road games and overall season record when visiting is 3-4-10. Stoke ranks 13th in the road league table with 13 of 51 possible points earned and their overall goal difference is 37-50 (14-30 away). They also have failed to score in their last six away matches. 35% of their road games had over 3.5 goals and 18% of their away matches had over 4.5 goals in total. Most common results on the road are 1:1 draw and 1:0 loss (both occurred three times).

Joe Allen and Marko Arnautovic are the leading scorers with six goals each while Peter Crouch has five in his account. Arnautovic is also team’s leading assister with four while passing segment belongs to Erik Pieters and Glenn Whelan with 1250 and 1029 total passes. Goalies Grant Lee (28 appearances), Jack Butland (two appearances) and Shay Given (five appearances) collected 117 saves and they have 10 games with clean sheets combined.

Stephen Ireland (Leg) and Ibrahim Afellay (Knee) are major doubts while Jonathan Walters (Knee) and Saido Berahino (Illness) will have late fitness tests.

The Bournemouth AFC vs. Stoke City FC is another game with not many implications for the league table order. Both teams have their minds set for the next season and will play for prestige on Saturday. Surely, a win sounds good for both teams but a draw is most probable result in my mind.

MY PICK: Draw (+260)

BURNLEY FC vs. WEST BROMWICH ALBION

3-Way: 1: Burnley FC +141; X: +250 Draw; 2: West Bromwich Albion +309

Spread -0.5:  Burnley FC +142; West Bromwich Albion -147

Total +2: Over -109; Under +106

BURNLEY FC

The Burnley FC is slowly leaving the danger zone in the English Premier league table and they now rank 14th with 39 points in 34 matches, seven points above the relegation line. The Clarets are 2-2-4 in the last eight matches and they are 1-1-2 in last four games in front of their own crowd.

They have secured their first win of the season on the road last weekend against Crystal Palace and another home win would 100% secure the survival in the top English soccer competition. Team is one of the best hosts in the English Premier league this season with 10-2-5 overall home record ranking above Manchester United and Manchester City in the home league table with 32 of possible 51 points earned.

Their overall goal difference is 35-49 (23-16 at home) and 71% of their home games had under 2.5 goals while 82% of their home matches had under 3.5 goals in total. Burnley scores 1.35 and concedes 0.94 goals at home (1.00-1.40 overall) and most common result at home is a 1:0 win (occurred four times).

Andre Gray tops the team in scoring with nine goals while Ashley Barnes and Sam Vokes have six goals each in their accounts. Vokes and Steven Defour are the team’s leading assisters with three assists each while passing segment belongs to Matthew Lowton with 979 total passes. Goalkeepers Tom Heaton (32 appearances) and Paul Robinson (three appearances) collected 146 saves and they have ten games with clean sheets so far.

George Boyd (Knock) and Stephen Ward (Knee) are listed as slight doubts while Dean Marney (ACL Knee) is out for the season. Ben Mee (Shin) and Michael Keane (Knock) will have late fitness tests.

WEST BROMWICH ALBION

The West Bromwich Albion are winless since March 18th and they are currently riding a four games losing streak. The Baggies also failed to score a single goal in five April games and this nefarious trend should finally come to an end. Currently, they rank eighth in the English Premier league table with 44 points in 34 games and if there wasn’t this recent poor form they could have been in the battle for one of the spots that lead to European competitions next season.

West Bromwich is 1-1-6 in the last eight games and they are 0-2-2 in the last four road games. Overall record on the road is 3-6-7 and they rank 11th in the away league table with 15 of 48 possible points earned with 12-22 goal difference (39-43 overall). 62% of team’s road games had under 2.5 goals and 88% of their away matches had under 3.5 goals in total. Most common result on the road is a 1:1 draw (occurred four times).

Jose Rondon is the team’s leading scorer with seven goals while Gareth McAuley has six so far. Matt Phillips is the top assister with eight while Nacer Chadli has five. Passing segment belongs to Jake Livermore and Darren Fletcher with 1239 and 831 total passes. Goalkeeper Ben Foster (34 appearances) has 96 saves and six games with clean sheets.

Hal Robson-Kanu (Hamstring) and Matt Phillips (Hamstring) are major doubts for Saturday.

Both teams are most likely to play the top English football competition next season, as both teams are outside the danger zone with a comfortable point advantage over the 18th ranked Swansea City. With the match-up having close to none implications for either team, I think that the guards will be down and that we are ought to some goals on both sides.

MY PICK: Both teams to score YES (+114)
