Tonight we are going to find out who made the Top 10 on NBC’s The Voice. It’s taken us a long time to get here, but we have finally arrived.
Before we get there, a little reminder of the odds for The Voice that we posted a few weeks ago:
Jackie Verna +150
Pryor Baird +320
Britton Buchanan +500
Brynn Cartelli +720
Rayshun LaMarr +1100
D.R. King +1300
Jackie Foster +1750
Sharane Calister +2200
Spensha Baker +2500
Christiana Danielle +3500
Kyla Jade +5000
Kaleb Lee +5000
Tonight we see who, from this list, is safe and who was eliminated. First, here is The Voice Top 10:
Pryor Baird – Team Blake
Britton Buchanan – Team Alicia
Rayshun Lamarr – Team Adam
Brynn Cartelli – Team Kelly
Spensha Baker – Team Blake
Jackie Verna – Team Adam
Jackie Foster – Team Alicia
Kyla Jade – Team Blake
Kaleb Lee – Team Kelly
The bottom two are Christiana Danielle from Team Alicia and Sharane Calister from Team Adam. They are required to sing for their lives! Well, not their lives, but their position in the competition.
Sharane Calister: She chooses to sing “If I Were a Boy” by Beyonce, but unfortunately it’s not her best performance and this is the time that it counts. Of course, Adam praises her and says how she shouldn’t be there, but doesn’t say anything about her pitchiness. Why would he? He wants to win so he’ll focus only on the positive.
Christiana Danielle – She chooses to sing “A Thousand Years” by Christina Perri –I’m sure the stress of singing for their lives gets to them, but her performance was off too.
When it comes time to find out who America saved right then and there, it’s Christiana Danielle, which means that Sharane Calister went home.
The remaining contestants and my feelings about them are:
Jackie Verna +150 — Favored to win the competition, I honestly think that Pryor Baird might have a stronger fanbase. But, wait, this is a singing competition, right? Not a popularity competition? Well, The Voice is both. If Jackie’s fanbase can vote her through then she might have a chance of winning this whole thing. I honestly like Pryor Baird’s voice better though — it’s an apples to oranges comparison, but I hear so many Jackie Verna’s and not many Pryor Baird’s.
Pryor Baird +320 — see my comments under Jackie Verna.
Britton Buchanan +500 — This is the kid who can steal it from both of them. Young and cute, he definitely has the young female voting fanbase. Again, this is a singing competition too and they are all very talented. I think Britton is radio ready — ala Ed Sheeran — so I think if he lasts another week, he could be the final one standing.
Brynn Cartelli +720 — Now repeat everything I just said for Britton and put Brynn’s name in it.
Rayshun LaMarr +1100 — From this point on, it’s a crapshoot. Out of all the remaining contestants, I think that Spensha would be the one to beat. She’s talented and country. Cristiana found her way in the bottom two, so unless she pulls off an amazing performance next week, she could be done. Rayshun is a bundle of energy in a ball of rubberbands and each week all they do is pull a rubberband and watch him go. He’s amazing and fun, but I don’t think he’s top 3 caliber.
Jackie Foster +1750 — I like Jackie Foster, a lot. That doesn’t mean anything here though. She has that sexy rocker chick thing going, but is The Voice more pop or country? Where does she fit in?
Spensha Baker +2500 — If Spensha stays with the country sound, she could keep moving up the charts.
Christiana Danielle +3500 — Already in the bottom two this week, she’ll have to pull out all the stops to stay another week. I would move her odds to greater than Kaleb, who seems to be getting a bigger country fan base every week.
Kyla Jade +5000 — Kyla is amazing, but I also think she needs to find her place in the competition. We know she can belt it and every week she belts it. Unfortunately, she’s not drawing me in to every performance because they are almost all sounding the same. I would love to see her break out something different to give her a chance.
Kaleb Lee +5000 — He may not win, but I don’t think he’s going anywhere for a few weeks.
