Milwaukee Brewers vs. Colorado Rockies Matchup 05/11/18

The Milwaukee Brewers are set to square off against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field. Fox Sports Net Wisconsin is in line to televise this NL showdown and the opening pitch is scheduled for 8:40 p.m. ET.

The Rockies are 21-17 SU and 21-16 ATS. They’ve gained 7.2 units for bettors taking the moneyline and 5.8 units against the spread (ATS). Colorado has covered the spread six times in its last seven games and the total has gone under in five of those seven. The Brewers are 22-16 SU and have gone 20-17 ATS. Overall, the team’s accumulated 5.9 units for moneyline bettors over the early portions of the season and 2.2 units ATS. Milwaukee is 3-4 ATS over its last seven games and the total has gone under in three of those seven.

Milwaukee’s pitchers have allowed 3.7 runs per game and its starting pitchers own a 4.03 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 6.73 K/9. The bullpen has logged an outstanding ERA of just 2.54, along with a WHIP of 1.30.

The Brewers offense has slashed .237/.307/.381 on its way to 3.7 runs scored per game this year, including 3.5 runs per game over the team’s last 10 games and 3.0 per game over the team’s last five contests (3-2 SU).

Lorenzo Cain and Eric Thames have led Milwaukee’s hitters. Cain is slashing .283/.395/.465 with five home runs, 12 RBIs, 21 runs and eight stolen bases, while Thames (.250/.351/.625) has produced seven homers, 13 RBIs and 11 runs scored.

In the home-team dugout, Colorado’s pitching staff has given up 4.4 runs per game overall in 2018. Its starters have an ERA of 3.92, a WHIP of 1.28 and a strikeouts-per-nine of 8.3. The bullpen has a 4.84 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 9.2 K/9.

The Rockies’ offense has been led by third baseman Nolan Arenado and right fielder Charlie Blackmon. Arenado is hitting .316/.417/.598 with eight home runs, 21 RBIs and 19 runs scored, while Blackmon’s line is .274/.384/.565 with 11 homers, 20 RBIs and 29 runs.

Compared to his total season slash line of .309/.373/.586, Arenado did not seem to enjoy batting against right-handed pitchers in 2017, slashing .272/.341/.502 over 513 plate appearances.

The Brewers have gained 4.9 units and are 16-12 ATS when facing a right-handed starting pitcher this year. The over has cashed in nine of those games, compared to 17 that’ve gone under against righties. On the other hand, the Rockies have netted 10.2 units and are 12-9 ATS when facing a righty starter. The over’s hit in 10 of those games, compared to 11 that’ve gone under.
