New York Yankees vs. Kansas City Royals Betting Preview 05/19/18

The New York Yankees are ready to play the Kansas City Royals at Ewing M. Kauffman Stadium. Fox Sports Kansas City will be showing this AL showdown. The game is scheduled to get underway at 7:15 p.m. ET.

New York Yankees at Kansas City Royals Odds

Vegas is listing New York (-270) as the favorite over Kansas City (+235). Bettors are able to gamble on the game’s total with odds sitting at -110 for over 8.5 runs and -110 for under 8.5. Gamblers can also bet on the game’s spread with the current runline odds sitting at Yankees -1.5 runs (-165) and Royals +1.5 runs (+145).

The Royals are just 14-30 SU and 19-24 ATS. They’ve lost 13.9 units for moneyline bettors and 8.9 units against the spread (ATS). Right fielder Jorge Soler and third baseman Mike Moustakas have led the Royals’ offense so far. Soler is hitting .305/.408/.504 with five home runs, 19 RBIs and 20 runs scored, while Moustakas has put up a line of .291/.332/.535 with 10 homers, 30 RBIs and 27 runs scored.

Compared to his overall season slash line of .144/.245/.258, Soler seemed to enjoy hitting at home last year, slashing .213/.302/.404 over 53 plate appearances.

The Yankees have gained 4.5 units and are 7-6 ATS when facing a left-handed starting pitcher this season. The over has cashed in five of those games, compared to eight that’ve gone under in such games. On the other hand, the Royals have lost 15.1 units and are 9-17 ATS when facing a righty starter. The over’s cashed in 10 of those games, compared to 14 that went under the total.
