Angelenos know the dangers of earthquakes firsthand. When a 7.1 earthquake rumbled across southern California last night, fans at the Dodgers game had a reaction that many would not have had in that situation. Instead of being frightened, or leaving the ballpark, the crowd cheered the earthquake and stayed to see their Dodgers try to improve on a 37-9 home record. Unfortunately, the home crowd left disappointed, as the Dodgers lost 3-2.

Christian Yelich is one of the favorites to win Monday night’s Home Run Derby, and the Brewers’ slugger started to prepare by taking some big rips at PNC Park yesterday afternoon. Yelich ended up breaking a window in a boat that was docked just outside the stadium on the Allegheny River, showcasing the power that has led to him becoming the league leader in home runs with 31. Yelich is one of the headliners at this year’s Home Run Derby, and he will face plenty of competition.
Christian Yelich did a practice round for the Home Run Derby at PNC Park today with former Marlins coach Pat Shine. He broke the window of a boat parked in the Allegheny River outside right field. Cops were called, Yelich was not arrested. 😂

The 30th anniversary of “Seinfeld” was yesterday, and the show’s creator and titular actor Jerry Seinfeld was honored by the New York Mets last night. Seinfeld received an autographed bat from Pete Alonso, and the Mets commemorated the night with a Jerry Seinfeld bobblehead doll that has already proven to be a hot item on the secondary market. The comedian showed he could put it across the plate too, side-arming a pitch right across the plate. Maybe the Baltimore Orioles could use his services in the second half of the season.
