Anthony Joshua vs Gary Cornish Odds

The o2 Arena in London features a boxing card set to air on SKY TV in the United Kingdom that is headlined by heavyweight phenom Anthony Joshua (13-0) as he faces Gary Cornish (21-0) for the Commonwealth and the WBC International Heavyweight titles.  The co-feature match is also at heavyweight, as Dillian Whyte (15-0) takes on veteran Brian Minto (41-9) in what is a step-up fight for Whyte.

What the promoter is trying to do here is set up a clash between Joshua and White for later this year, and this card is a chance to feature both men in preparatory fights and to get their schedules in line for a clash expected in December.

Though Cornish and Minto will try to wreck the promotional plans, both have the cards stacked against them.  Cornish is a game fighter who is also undefeated, but his level of competition has no one close to the level Joshua brings.  Minto is a blown up cruiserweight who is nearing the end of his career, and he will be small facing the massive Whyte.

Of the two fighters, it is Whyte who has a tougher challenge, as promoter Ed Hearn has been cautious in bringing Joshua along and he is not taking a huge risk here with either guy.

The live event is a big one, featuring 11 fights in all.  Another fight that is up at the books for this card is the Super Lightweight clash between Dave Ryan and John Wayne Hibbert, as the two men meet for the third time.  Hibbert is 0-2 versus the veteran Ryan, but they delivered a terrific action fight their last time out where Hibbert was ahead on the cards before he was stopped.
