Winnipeg heads into the game as the noticeable favorite with a moneyline of -205. The line for Arizona sits at +175 and the Over/Under (O/U) is set at 6 goals. The line for betting the total stands at -120 over, +100 under.
Winnipeg is 4-3 straight up (SU) and has recorded -0.2 units for moneyline bettors thus far. That winning percentage, ranked second in the Central Division so far this season, is a big slide from what the team recorded during last year’s regular season (52-30). After serving an average of 8.6 penalty minutes per game a season ago the team’s been forced to kill penalties for a whopping 17.6 minutes per matchup this year.
With a .914 save percentage and 28.3 saves per game, Connor Hellebuyck (3-3-1) has been the principal option in goal for Winnipeg this season. If Winnipeg decides to give him a rest, however, head coach Paul Maurice might go with Laurent Brossoit (1-0 record, .977 save percentage, 1.00 goals against average).
The Jets will continue to rely on leadership from Patrik Laine and Josh Morrissey. Laine (five points) is up to three goals and two assists while Morrissey has five assists to his name so far in the season’s early stages.
