Arizona Coyotes at Philadelphia Flyers Odds

The Flyers are 7-8 straight up (SU) and have lost 1.6 units for moneyline bettors this year. That early-season winning percentage is a slide from what the team managed during last year’s regular season (42-40). Through 15 regular season contests, 11 of its games have gone over the total, while four have gone under and none have pushed. The team is 2-4 SU at home so far this year.

Philadelphia’s converted on 15.7 percent of its power play chances this season, a mark that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill is rated 30th overall, and it’s successfully killed off 69.1 percent of all penalties.

As a collective unit, Philadelphia has been whistled for penalties 4.9 times per game this season, a number that’s climbed from the 3.6 penalties per game given up last year. After serving an average of 8.6 penalty minutes per game a year ago, the team has been forced to stave off opponent power plays for 10.9 minutes per matchup this season.

Boasting a .893 save percentage and 25.0 saves per game, Brian Elliott (5-5) has been the most dependable option in goal for the Flyers this season. If they decide to rest him, however, the team might turn to Calvin Pickard (3-2-2 record, .876 save percentage, 3.94 goals against average).

The Flyers will continue to look for leadership from Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek. Giroux (17 points) has put up six goals and 11 assists and has recorded two or more points five times this year. Voracek has four goals and 11 assists to his name and has notched at least one point in seven contests.

Arizona has netted moneyline bettors 1.4 units this season and is currently 7-6 straight up (SU). Through 13 regular season matches, seven of its games have gone under the total, while five have gone over and just one has pushed. As an away team, Arizona is 3-3 SU so far.

Arizona has converted on 15.8 percent of its power play chances this year, a mark that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill unit is ranked third overall and it’s successfully killed off 90.2 percent of all opponent power plays.

Arizona’s players have been penalized 4.3 times per game this season. Last season, that number was at 3.3, which was the fifth-best mark in the league. After serving an average of 7.8 penalty minutes per game a season ago the team’s had to stave off opponent power plays for 9.4 minutes per matchup this year.

Antti Raanta (.929 save percentage and 2.10 goals against average) has been the primary option in goal for Arizona. Raanta is averaging 27.4 saves per game and has five wins and four losses to his credit.

Leading the offensive firepower for the visiting Coyotes will be Clayton Keller (five goals, five assists) and Oliver Ekman-Larsson (one goal, seven assists).
