Anne-Marie Sorvin-USA TODAY Sports

A couple of clubs that’ve disappointed this year, the Arizona Coyotes and the Vancouver Canucks face off at Rogers Arena in a divisional matchup. The action will get going at 10 p.m. ET on Thursday, April 5, and it can be watched live on Fox Arizona Plus.

Arizona Coyotes vs. Vancouver Canucks Odds

Arizona (-115) is currently favored over Vancouver (-105) and the oddsmakers have set the Over/Under (O/U) at 6 goals. The line for betting that total stands at -105 for the over and -115 for the under.

The Canucks are 30-50 straight up (SU) and have lost 9.8 units for moneyline bettors this year. That early-season winning percentage hasn’t moved much from what the team posted during the 2016-17 season (30-52). Through 80 regular season matches, 44 of the team’s games have gone over the total, while 36 have gone under and none have pushed. This season, the team is 15-25 SU at home.

Vancouver has been able to convert on 21.7 percent of its power play chances this season, a mark that places them in the top-10 among NHL teams. On the other hand, its penalty kill is rated 21st overall, and it’s successfully killed off 78.7 percent of all penalties.

As a team, Vancouver has been penalized 3.8 times per game overall this season, and 3.0 per game over its last five home outings. The team has had to kill penalties for just 5.6 minutes per game over its last five outings, in total.

With a .913 save percentage and 26.7 saves per game, Jacob Markstrom (22-37-8) has been the primary goalkeeper for the Canucks this season. If head coach Travis Green decides to give him a breather, however, the Nucks may turn to Anders Nilsson (7-19-19 record, .900 save percentage, 3.52 goals against average).

Brock Boeser and Daniel Sedin will each spearhead the attack for the Canucks. Boeser (55 points) has tallied 29 goals and 26 assists and has recorded multiple points in 11 different games this year. Sedin has 21 goals and 32 assists to his name and has notched at least one point in 38 contests.

On the other side of the ice, Arizona is 29-51 straight up (SU) and has lost 13.5 units for bettors taking the moneyline this year. A total of 42 of its outings have gone under the total, while 37 have gone over and just one has pushed. As the away team, Arizona is 13-27 SU.

Arizona has converted on just 16.7 percent of its power play opportunities this year, a mark that places it in the bottom-five overall among NHL teams. On the other hand, its penalty kill unit is ranked 18th overall and it’s successfully defended 79.8 percent of all opponent power plays.

Arizona’s skaters have been penalized only 3.3 times per game this season, 2.8 per game over their past five games total, and 3.2 per game over their last five games as the visiting team. The team has had to stave off opponent power plays just 7.7 minutes per game over their last 10 outings.

Antti Raanta (.930 save percentage and 2.24 goals against average) has been the main option in goal for Arizona. Raanta is averaging 27.5 saves per game and has 22 wins, 24 losses, and six OT losses to his credit.

For the visiting Coyotes, the offense will be facilitated by Clayton Keller, who has 41 assists and 23 goals this season.
