The No. 2 seed Arizona Wildcats blew open what had been a close game early in the second half, coasting to a comfortable victory over No. 10 seed Ohio State to advance to the Sweet Sixteen in Los Angeles.

The Wildcats led 26-25 at halftime before both teams turned up the offense significantly in the second half, when Arizona outscored Ohio State 47-33.

T.J. McConnell led the Wildcats with 19 points, six assists, five steals, and six rebounds, becoming just the sixth player in NCAA tournament history to record at least 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and five steals in a game.

Gabe York added 19 for Arizona off of five made three-pointers while forward Rondae Hollis-Jefferson finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. York’s three-pointer with 11:52 remaining capped a 13-5 Arizona run which gave the Wildcats a 46-36 lead. Nine of the 13 points during the run came from York.

Sam Thompson led Ohio State with 18 points, while leading scorer D’Angelo Russell was held to 9 points on 3-of-19 shooting in what could be his final game for the Buckeyes. It was just the second time this season he failed to score in double figures.
