The Sun Devils come in on a high note after barely hanging on to beat the Oregon State Beavers in their last matchup, 77-75. The Sun Devils knocked down 16 of their 22 free throws (72.7 percent) and had a better turnover percentage (15.3 vs. 16.9). Arizona State rallied around Shannon Evans, who was the game’s leading scorer with 22 points on 7-for-11 shooting.

The last time the Cardinal played, they defeated the Washington Huskies, 73-64. Stanford out-rebounded Washington. The Cardinal had 14 offensive rebounds and 48 total rebounds, while the Huskies had three and 28, respectively. It could be a mistake-prone game for the Stanford offense. Stanford ranks 304th in the nation in ball protection (turnover percentage of 21.5 percent), while the ball-hawking defense of Arizona State forces the 79th-most turnovers in the nation (21.2 percent).

Arizona State holds records of 14-3 straight up (SU) and 10-4-3 against the spread (ATS). Vegas is known to place the total low when the Sun Devils are involved, as 58.8 percent of their games have ended over the total.

Meanwhile, Stanford is 10-8 SU and 7-10-1 ATS. Contrary to Arizona State, Cardinal games tend to go under the projected point total (66.7 percent).

After the Sun Devils won all three matchups against the Cardinal last season, this will be the first matchup of the year between these two teams. In the last contest, Arizona State won 98-88. The Sun Devils made 22 of their 25 free throws (88.0 percent) and had a much better effective field goal percentage (0.644 vs. 0.534).
