The Camping World Truck Series moves to Eldora Speedway on July 20th at 9:00 pm E.T. for the Aspen Dental 150 on Fox sports 1. The famed half mile clay surfaced oval is located in New Western, Ohio. Eldora Speedway is owned by three-time NASCAR champion and first ballot Hall of Fame driver Tony Stewart. Furthermore, the track seats roughly 18,000 spectators and is nicknamed the “Big E”.
The Aspen Dental 150 is set to go down Wednesday night at the half-mile, clay oval. The Camping World Truck Series is the only national NASCAR contest that is challenged on dirt. The race consists of 150 revolutions that will be separated in to three segments of 40, 50 and 60 laps. There are five qualifying heat races that determine the 32 truck field. Tony Stewart commented on the track and it’s new sponsor for the big event.
“Aspen Dental has leveraged its partnership with Stewart-Haas Racing and Danica Patrick really well. This new role with Eldora Speedway gives them another strong platform,” said Tony Stewart, owner of Eldora Speedway. “The Truck Series race at Eldora brings dirt-track fans and NASCAR fans together under one roof. It’s unique to Eldora and it allows Aspen Dental a unique opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of oral health.”
Two Camping world Truck Series practices will take place at Eldora Speedway at 5:15 pm E.T. on Fox sports 1. After the completion of the practice rounds the drivers will participate in the Keystone Coors Light Pole qualifying session. The session will consist of two lap segments and the fastest times will determine the starting order of the five qualifying heat races.
The five qualifying heat races will determine the order of the competitors for the main event later in the evening. The races will be ten laps long and only green flag circuits will be counted. The top five fastest trucks in the five heat races will fill 25 of the 32 starting spots in the finale. There will also be a last chance qualifying race for the drivers on the outside looking in.
The last chance race consists of 15 laps where only green flag circuits are tallied. As a result, the top two performing trucks will fill the 26th and 27th spots for the Aspen Dental 150 on Wednesday night. The last remaining spots will be filled based on owner points accumulated throughout the season. Here is a chart showing the order in which the drivers will start the race at Eldora Speedway.

The Camping World Truck Series has put the half mile clay oval on it’s racing schedule since 2013. Austin Dillon, who now races full-time for his grandfather in the Sprint Cup Series, won the inaugural event. Darrel Wallace Jr. drove on to victory in 2014 and Camping World Truck Series rookie Christopher Bell rode to glory in last years contest.
