Pressure on for Last Spots at ATP World Tour Finals

The pressure is on for players to get one of the last spots in the ATP World Tour Finals in two weeks. Andy Murray held the 8th spot before the tournaments in Valencia and Switzerland. Murray and Tomas Berdych are trying to hold on to the last two spots so this event in Paris will be very important. “I just need to win as many matches as possible to keep hold of the eighth spot or go higher.” Murray said. David Ferrer has hopes of catching Murray or Berdych for one of the spots. ”I have a chance (to qualify for London). There are two more weeks, which are important to get to London. I will try and be more positive next week.” Berdych had similar feelings heading into the last few weeks saying, “We are still all in the same train and moving forward to London. Some of us will stay just as close. I’m trying to play well and that’s the best feeling.”

Tennis Predictions

This event means a lot more for some players than to others. Those who have clinched have no real incentive to go full out for his event other than Roger Federer. He still could steal the #1 ranking from Djokovic if he won in Switzerland as expected and then won this event and the ATP World Tour Finals. We’ll look for Federer to win the BNP Paribas Masters and put the pressure on Djokovic.
