Baba Miller has issues with NCAA regulations

Baba Miller, a freshman striker, will be suspended by Florida State for half of the regular-season games (16 matches) in the 2022–23 campaign after the NCAA rejected the school’s appeal. Prior to being recruited by FSU, Miller obtained travel assistance from his home Spain to the United States for a camp. Miller and his family quickly gave back the advantages they had received after learning of the applicable NCAA regulations.

Vice President and Director of Athletics Michael Alford expressed his “deep disappointment” with the committee’s decision in light of the information provided. “In the contemporary milieu of today, the choice seems excessive and incongruous. It is regrettable that Baba would be subjected to this punishment.”

In order to be ready for his Seminole debut on January 11, 2023 versus Wake Forest, Miller will train with the team. The class of 2022’s 2.08-meter forward, who is 18 years old, was regarded as one of the best international talents committing to the collegiate path. As opposed to Gonzaga, he chose Florida State.
