It’s been a lively offseason for Baker Mayfield. The Cleveland Browns quarterback has continued to stir the pot, and he has already added some fire to this year’s Red River Shootout with his recent comments. The Heisman Trophy winning Oklahoma Sooners quarterback went on a radio show in Norman yesterday and poured a lot of cold water on the hype surrounding Texas this season. The Longhorns are one of those schools that is constantly built up in the preseason, and Mayfield is over it.
.@bakermayfield made it clear that Texas is NOT back. And, he had some thoughts on the Longhorns' starting QB, Sam Ehlinger, with @TedLehman11 and @Tyler_McComas. #Sooners pic.twitter.com/7BZ9wS5Vjw

The Clemson Tigers have won two of the last three national championships, and one of the favorites to win the 2019 national championship is set to have its own television show this season. The ACC Network is finally launching in earnest at the start of the season, and the network will be profiling the ACC’s flagship program to help bring in viewers. As an added bonus, that could help Trevor Lawrence’s Heisman campaign.
The four-part series "All In: The Clemson Football Family" is coming to @accnetwork on Aug. 25!
Don't wait until August to check https://t.co/FdiW63c34o to see if your provider is carrying ACC Network — call to demand ACC Network now.https://t.co/nhi9dKmqD0 pic.twitter.com/tqjUZvJai4

Speaking of Trevor Lawrence, there is growing buzz surrounding the Clemson Tigers quarterback. He set the world on fire as a freshman, and he makes Clemson a real threat to repeat even though their vaunted defensive line has moved onto the NFL. Lawrence has been heralded as one of the most pro-ready quarterbacks ever.
Trevor Lawrence hasn’t exactly come off as introspective the past year. But it was fun to chat with him about all the big existential questions every 19 year old who doesn’t have a natty also asks about life. Learned a lot about him. https://t.co/NZIN4z58aN

Finally, if you’re a college football junkie like me, you know Bill Connelly’s previews are the best in the business. Connelly’s S&P+ Ratings are used by everyone these days, and they are better than anything you would find for $10 on a magazine stand. Yesterday, Connelly announced that he would be leaving SB Nation at the end of this week, and he would also be stepping away from Podcast Ain’t Played Nobody. The numbers junkie has yet to announce what his next move will be, but he has assured fans and followers we won’t lose his incredible insight into college football.
NEW PAPN.
So um, this is my last PAPN as co-host. And my last week at @SBNation.
(And I can't say where I'm going yet.)
(But listen anyway. We brought on @AthlonMitch and @JasonKirkSBN and brought back #BoxScoreBingo one last time.)
(Love you guys.)https://t.co/qXxtQwn2Hb
