Baseball Lines: The Los Angeles Dodgers and St. Louis Cardinals continue their series on Saturday in a game that can be seen on FS1. The Dodgers are expected to send Zack Greinke to the mound while the St. Louis Cardinals are still undecided on their starter. It could be the Dodgers end up as road favorites in this contest but that depends upon whether the Cardinals decided to go with Adam Wainwright who was the All-Star Game starter. Here is a look at the game and baseball predictions.
Los Angeles Dodgers Pitching
The Dodgers should be going with Greinke on Saturday. He comes into this game at 11-5 with a 2.73 ERA. He allowed three runs in seven innings last time out against the Tigers but got the loss. He is 9-3 with a 2.93 ERA against the Cardinals in his career. He is 2-1 in his last three starts overall with a 2.05 ERA.
St. Louis Cardinals Pitching
If the Cardinals decide to go with Wainwright in this one then they will end up as the favorite. If they don’t pitch him in this one then it could be matchup of Kershaw and Wainwright on Sunday. The Cardinals have gotten good pitching overall this season from their rotation and the bullpen as they are 8th best in team ERA. The problem for the team is hitting as they are next to last in the league in scoring at just 3.7 runs per game.
Series Notes
Before Friday’s contest the teams had split their last ten meetings. The teams played a four-game set in LA late last month and the Dodgers took three of four with three games going under. The Cardinals had won 7 of 10 at home in this series before Friday’s opener.
Baseball Predictions
Regardless of who the Cardinals throw on Saturday this should be a low scoring game as the Cardinals rarely score many runs and three of the last four in St. Louis between the teams have gone under. And the Dodgers have gone under 28 times on the road already this season.
