Baseball Predictions: Low Scoring Game Expected on Tuesday as the Atlanta Braves visit the New York Mets

Baseball Betting:  It should be a low scoring game on Tuesday night as the Atlanta Braves visit the New York Mets.  Neither team is that potent on offense plus the pitching matchup should be a good one with Alex Wood going against Dillon Gee.  And four of the last five meetings have gone under the total.  Here is a look at the game and baseball predictions.

Probable Pitchers – Wood vs. Gee

Alex Wood continues to pitch well this season for the Braves. He gave up just two runs and four hits in seven innings last time out against the Pirates. Wood has a 9-9 record this season but his ERA is very good at 3.05.  He has thrown 130 innings and allowed 119 hits. He has struck out almost a batter per inning as he has 124 strikeouts.

Dillon Gee has a 4-6 record this season with a 3.84 ERA. He hasn’t been nearly as good since coming off the DL as he is 1-5 with a 5.06 ERA.  He did pitch really well against the Braves last month though as he held them to one run in seven innings. Gee has an 0-2 record in his last three starts with a 4.34 ERA. Gee really likes to pitch against Atlanta as he is 5-4 against them in his career with a 2.80 ERA.

Game Notes

The Braves have played better of late on the road so they could end up as road favorites in this contest. The Mets are just 30-32 at home this season. Neither team scores many runs as the Braves are 26th in the league in runs per game while the Mets are 28th in the league in runs scored.

Braves vs. Mets Series

The Braves have taken six of the last ten in this series with three of the last four going under. The teams played a four-game set in New York last month with the Mets taking three of four.  The Mets have won four of the past five at home in this series and six of the last eight at Citi Field have gone under the total.

Baseball Predictions

We’ll go with two plays in this one and take the Atlanta Braves with Wood on the mound and the game under the total.
