Baylor Bears – Texas Longhorns Preview – 02.20.2016

Big 12 foes will lock horns when the No. 24 Texas Longhorns (17-9) square off against the No. 25 Baylor Bears (19-7) at Frank Erwin Special Events Center. Action begins at 2:00 pm ET on Saturday, Feb. 20 and will air on ESP and ES3.

The Longhorns come into this game on a high note after beating West Virginia 85-78 on Tuesday. Isaiah Taylor was the game’s high scorer with 23 points on 5-for-12 shooting. The Bears are coming off a 100-91 win over Iowa State on Tuesday. Johnathan Motley had a good performance, accounting for 27 points and 10 rebounds to claim his fourth double-double of the season.

Baylor may control the offensive boards in this matchup, as they place third in the nation in OR% at 40.7%. On the other hand, Texas ranks 302nd in the nation on the defensive glass with a DR% of 67.5%.

This is the second game of the year between these two teams, with the Longhorns winning the first matchup 67-59. Despite the loss, Rico Gathers was a top performer in the game with 20 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.
