The Bellator 119 card is this Friday, May 9th in Ontario, Canada and the card features the Featherweight tournament final between Desmond Green and Daniel Weichel as the main event. The lines should be heading up at the books shortly, and look for Green-Weichel to be pretty tight line as both men are pretty evenly matched. The overall card has suffered due to cancellations, as the Middleweight tournament final between Brett Cooper and Brandon Halsey has been scratched due to a Cooper back injury, and the card has had other cancellations as well.

Look for Daniel Weichel to be the favorite heading into the fight. Weichel, a native of Germany has an impressive 33-8 record in almost 40 career fights. His competition level in Europe and Russia (M-1, BAMMA, etc) is pretty high, and he has adapted well to Bellator since coming over, going 2-0 on his way to the tournament final.
In Desmond Green however, Weichel is facing an explosive athlete who has gone 3-0 (3-1 overall) in his last three fights in Bellator. Green however has a tendency to use the full fifteen minutes of a fight, finishing only 4 of 13 fights in his career. Weichel is an excellent ground fighter who has finished 20 of his professional wins by submission. Green is a wrestler who won state championships in high school and qualified 3x for the NCAA finals while wrestling at Buffalo, so he is going to look to control position against Weichel if the fight gets to the ground. Weichel will be able to test his submission acumen against a guy who will try to be heavy on top.
The co-main event features Bellator veterans Chris Horodecki taking on Marlon Sandro. Horodecki, once a teen protege in MMA, is now 26 years old and a vetran of roughly 25 fights. Though he has kept a good record, he has failed to break through in his runs with WEC and Bellator. Sandro is one of Bellator’s true veterans, and he holds a solid 7-3 mark with the organization. Horodecki may emerge the favorite at the books, in which case Sandro may be worth a real look.
