Last night, Bellator 119 went down in Ontario, Canada last night, and the main event saw German fighter Daniel Wiechel use a rear naked choke to definitively finish wrestler turned MMA grinder Desmond Green to capture the season 10 Featherweight tournament title. For Weichel, it means a date in the future with Bellator’s Featherweight Champion, Pat Curran sometime down the line, while for Green it is back to the drawing board, as he will likely be in a season 11 tournament his next time out.

In another notable bout, Bellator veteran Marlon Sandro won a unanimous decision over Chris Horodecki. For Horodecki, a one time prodigy type who started the sport at 18 and is now 26, it leaves him 1-2-1 under the Bellator banner. For Sandro, it leaves him 8-3 overall in Bellator and he continues to establish himself as a guardian to the belt in his weight class, as he has lost to recent champions Daniel Straus and Pat Curran but done very well with everybody else they throw at him.
On the undercard, the veterans stepped up and took out their less tested opponents as Brian Rogers, Marius Zaromskis and John Alessio all notched wins.
Rogers faced off against 30 year old Adrian Miles, who was making his promotional debut. Miles showed that he could fight at this level, as he won round one on 2 of the 3 judges scorecards. Miles appeared to throw everything he had into the first round, as he appeared tired as the second round opened. From there, it was only a matter of time before Roger’s landed a jaw cracking flying knee that put an end to the festivities.
Veteran striker Marius Zaromskis outclassed MMA vetteran Vaughn Anderson. Anderson has been competing extensively in the budding Chinese MMA circuit, but he was a cut below as Zaromskis all but swept the judges cards to win a convincing decision.
Another MMA veteran, John Alessio, did sweep the scorecards on his way to a unanimous victory over Eric Wisely, who falls to 0-4 in the UFC, Bellator and Strikeforce combined.
