Ben Simmons NBA Draft Stock Falling?

The only thing that is more underwhelming than LSU’s tournament resume might be the Ben Simmons NBA Draft stock, as of late. The Tigers’ freshman has made headlines in the past week for several issues.

First up was the discipline levied by head coach Johnny Jones, as he took Simmons out of a recent starting lineup due to reported academic struggles. Yes, an embattled head coach sat down his one-and-done phenom due to not taking school seriously. It would be hilarious if it wasn’t so embarrassing for Jones and the program. Then, Simmons was cut from the Wooden Award finalists list due to what ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported as academic issues. Guidelines for the award suggest that a player must have a minimum 2.0 GPA to be considered.

Then came his postgame comments after losing to Kentucky, saying that what makes UK point guard Tyler Ulis so great because, “”If you touch him, it’s a foul.” He then stated that, in his opinion, Ole Miss point guard Stefan Moody is the superior player.

If he was simply having a personality meltdown, that would be one thing. But according to this NBA Scout, it’s getting worse for him in every area.

Like we said, Ben Simmons’ NBA Draft stock is going the same direction as LSU’s season.
