Justin Rose +450
Rose has been absolutely on fire of late so it only makes sense that he is the obvious sports-betting favorite to win this week. Rose has registered five straight top-10 finishes with figures that read: 3rd, 8th, 4th, 2nd and 2nd. The defending tournament champion gets another opportunity to return to the top spot in the world rankings with another strong performance this week. The numbers he put up here last year, combined with his recent form, make Rose the best bet on the board for this week’s tournament.
Tommy Fleetwood +750
Fleetwood has struggled to capitalize on some outstanding performances pounding the greens in his last two visits here. If he can capitalize on his opportunities by sinking his putts, Fleetwood could finally make the leap and contend for the victory after finishing 22nd and 23rd in his last two starts at this tournament. Consistency is key to Fleetwood’s games. If he can perform at a high level on the greens, Fleetwood will be in contention to win the Turkish Airlines Open this weekend.
Thorbjorn Olesen +1550
Olesen won this tournament two years ago in 2016 and then finished fifth when he defended his title here 12 months ago. Now he arrives in Turkey on the back of another top-10 performance last week at pretty good odds to win this event. Olesen clearly has the skill set to contend for the outright victory this week, and the fact that you can still get him at +1550 odds is a major bonus. If you are looking for the best value among the top contenders this week then you might want to jump on Olesen to win the Turkish Airlines Open for the second time in three years.
Shane Lowry +1850
Lowry is the first of two former top-25 players that should be in the mix in Turkey this week. A runner-up in his last outing at Valderrama, Lowry has finished in the top-five in each of his last two European tournament starts. If he is on his game this week, Lowry will be in the mix to win the Turkish Airlines Open.
Thomas Pieters +2850
The second former top-25 player worth keeping an eye on this week is Pieters, who won the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open earlier this year and has registered four straight top-five finishes on the European Tour. Pieters has the skill set to compete with Rose, Fleetwood and Olesen this week as a solid value pick to win this tournament outright.
Joost Luiten +3250
After missing five months because of injury, Luiten looked good in his return with an 11th place finish at Valderrama last week. Now that he is fully healthy and well rested, there is no doubt that he has the potential to surprise this week. Luiten has flown under the radar somewhat because of the amount of time he has missed but we won’t overlook him. At +3300 odds, Luiten is an excellent sleeper pick to win the Turkish Airlines Open.
Alexander Bjork +4550
Bjork doesn’t have amazing form figures at this event but he did produce a runner-up finish at Walton Heath and then registered a top-30 finish at the WGC HSBC Champions last week. Bjork has done well on similar courses before so perhaps he is worth investing on as a strong sleeper option to surprise. At +4550 odds, it’s worth taking a chance on Bjork to win the Turkish Airlines Open outright.
Marcus Kinhult +5500
Speaking of deeper sleeper picks, Kinhult is a very intriguing option at +5500 odds to win outright. Kinhult has never played this course before but he looked very good in his debut at the Portugal Masters and showed promise again with a top-20 finish in the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Kinhult ranked first in Putting Average at Valderrama last week and if he performs well on the greens again this week he could be a big surprise in Turkey. Of all of the capable golfers available at long sports betting odds, Kinhult is definitely worth considering as a sports betting long shot to win the Turkish Airlines Open.
