Do you ever wish that you had a little better number when considering your college football betting options for the week? By using college football teasers, you can grab the number you’re looking for by moving the line in your direction 6, 6.5, or 7 points on a two-team teaser. Each week, I’ll be highlighting one teaser that you should make if you’re a fan of making money by betting on college football. Let’s get to it.

LSU Tigers +10 vs Miami (FL) Hurricanes
Florida State Seminoles -1 vs. Virginia Tech Hokies
Key numbers are huge when it comes to betting teasers and college football betting in general. It’s important to be on the right side of numbers like 3, 4, 7, and 10, and this teaser has me on the right side of all these numbers. Of course, you don’t blindly tease every game with a spread at a certain number. Actual handicapping has to figure into the equation too.
I expect the first game of this teaser to be low scoring. LSU has one of the top defenses in the country year in and year out, and the Tigers aren’t about to give up a ton of points in the opener. Even though they lost a lot of defensive talent from last season, Dave Aranda is one of the best defensive coordinators in college football and this team has loads of blue chip talent to fill the gaps with.
As always, the bigger concern with LSU is the offense, and the quarterback position in particular. Ohio State transfer Joe Burrow is set to start the year at quarterback, with Myles Brennan right behind him on the depth chart. Burrow is more polished than any quarterback LSU has had in some time, and they should perform better than they usually do at that position as a result.
The second part of the teaser may seem like a homer pick to those that know me. I’m a proud Florida State alumnus, and the Seminoles are the one team I truly care about these days. I avoided backing them like the plague in 2017, but this year’s team is different.
Willie Taggart is going to make this offense much more productive than it was last season. He will have a healthy Deondre Francois running the offense, and the Seminoles running game might be one of the best in the nation with star running backs Cam Akers and Jacques Patrick leading the way. Taggart gets the best out of running backs with his offenses, and both players could have big games in the opener.
That’s especially the case since this isn’t your father’s Virginia Tech. While the Hokies still have the venerable Bud Foster as defensive coordinator, this is one of the toughest jobs he has ever had during his time in Blacksburg. Virginia Tech lost a number of key players to the NFL in April, and attrition ravaged the unit this offseason. Defensive backs Adonis Alexander and Jeremy Webb, Jr. are not available this season due to academics and injury, while outside linebacker Mook Reynolds was dismissed and defensive tackle Cam Goode was forced out. It will take some time for Foster to get the ball rolling with this unit.
