Betis

After some glorious moments in the previous round, we expect to see even more excitement in the 11th round of the Spanish La Liga, which is set for this weekend. The opening game is waiting for us on Friday, November 3rd, 2017, when Betis welcomes Getafe at Estadio Benito Villamarin.

In this preview, we would like to take a closer look at these two teams, and to provide you some useful tips and our betting predictions, like we always do here on GetMoreSports. Hopefully, we can make some money together, so let’s start with analysis.

BETIS

The Big Greens are having a nice season so far, showing us some great displays in the first ten rounds of the Spanish La Liga. With 16 points and a 19:18 goal difference, Real Betis is at the eighth spot of the La Liga table currently, just one point behind Villarreal on the sixth place, and four points behind Atletico Madrid on the fourth spot which leads to UEFA Champions League next year. They’ve played a quite entertaining and attacking football in the last couple of weeks, but they’ve disappointed their fans with a poor performance in the last round of the Spanish La Liga, when they were beaten by Espanyol on the road, 1:0.

We could see a bunch of goals in previous five Betis’ La Liga games, 24 in total, and The Big Greens scored 13 times, recording two wins, one draw, and two losses on those five occasions. They’ve won twice at home, keeping a clean sheet against Levante in the sixth round, 4:0, and Alaves in the ninth round, while they were heavily smashed by Valencia, 6:3, in the eighth round of the Spanish La Liga. On the road, Betis played a tremendous 4:4 draw with Real Sociedad before they failed to find a net against Espanyol last week.

The Big Greens created only four scoring chances at RCDE Stadium, which is far from their standards this year, and we couldn’t see the typical aggression in their play. With 83 scoring chances created thus far, Real Betis is the eleventh-best team in the league, but with 15 assists they are the third best team along with Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo, and there are only three teams in the Spanish La Liga which are more efficient than Betis after ten rounds (Barcelona, Valencia, and Real Sociedad). However, they were struggling against Espanyol to make a decent opportunity, taking just nine shots for ninety minutes.

In the 16th minute the midfielder Fabian Ruiz hit the crossbar with the left-foot shot from about 25 yards, and four minutes later Espanyol’s keeper easily saved Guardado’s shot from the same distance. The best chance of the game for Betis came in the 87th minute when Sergio Leon’s shot from six yards was brilliantly stopped by Pau Lopez. The Big Greens were down from the 55th minute, and they just couldn’t respond until the end, allowing Espanyol a couple of good opportunities to double the lead.

The 21-year old Paraguayan striker Antonio Sanabria is leading the team with six La Liga goals in nine appearances, while his colleague Sergio Leon, who arrived from CA Osasuna this summer, added four in eight apps. The 31-year old versatile midfielder Andres Guardado is team’s best assistant with six dishes in 10 appearances, but his form is descending in the last couple of weeks. The club’s legend Joaquin also played poorly against Espanyol, especially in the second half when he lost strength. Joaquin played in all 10 games so far, bagging three goals and making one assist.

The manager Quique Setien is having some problems with injured players in the squad, as the left-back Riza Durmisi and the winger Cristian Tello both have muscular problems, and they will probably miss the next game with Getafe. The winger Joel Campbell sprained his ankle in the last minute of the match against Espanyol, and he’s still doubtful for the next encounter.

GETAFE

The Deep Blues managed to turn things around in the previous round against Real Sociedad in front of the home fans when they were a goal down at the halftime. Getafe put on some great performance in the second half, and with two goals in Real Sociedad’s net, they took all three points at Coliseum Alfonso Perez. After the first ten rounds of the Spanish La Liga, they are sitting at the 11th spot of the table with 12 points, a 13:11 goal difference and a form of WDLLW.

Getafe’s recent form is pretty unpredictable and they proved it against Real Sociedad on last weekend. The visitors took the lead in the fifth minute when Mikel Oyarzabal found the net with a beautiful right-foot shot after Januzaj’s great through ball. Real Sociedad was a far better team in the first half, while The Deep Blues took just two shots on goal in this period. However, in the second half, the home team played far better, particularly at the offensive end, and they deserved to get something from this match.

In the 78th minute, Angel Rodriguez leveled the game with his fourth goal of the La Liga campaign after a couple of missed opportunities, showing his teammates they can even grab a victory at the end of the game. Just two minutes later the 35-year old striker Jorge Molina missed a huge chance for a home team, but in the 85th minute, he found the net from the penalty kick for Getafe’s third win of the season. The experienced striker got his third goal in 10 appearances, showing how great player he is even in a late stage of a career.

The Deep Blues created 82 scoring chances in the first ten rounds of the Spanish La Liga, even they recorded just 66% of an average pass accuracy (the worst score in the league). The team made 39 defensive actions per game, winning 41% of aerial duels and 37% of tackles. They have some problems at the defensive end, but they are showing a great team spirit, battling for all 90 minutes, and the manager Jose Bordalas is certainly satisfied with his boys so far. He’s still without two great wingers, as Dani Pacheco (shoulder) and Jefferson Montero (calf) will probably miss another game due to injuries.

BETIS vs. GETAFE – Match Prediction

After some great displays, Betis showed weakness in the previous round against Espanyol, and I expect to see them bouncing back in this clash. They’ve won four out of their five games at home, while Getafe is a pretty tricky visitor with a 1-3-1 away record so far. It is going to be a difficult match to predict a winner, and Getafe is certainly capable of making the upset here, but I’ll go with Betis as I think they are a better team at the moment.

MY PICK: Betis to Win (+114)
