The St. Louis Blues are still basking in the franchise’s first ever Stanley Cup win. This team has yet to stop partying, and they are truly living in the moment after so many years of frustration and heartache. They will reach full catharsis on Saturday when they take Lord Stanley down Market Street.

Thousands of people will be in downtown St. Louis tomorrow afternoon celebrating the Blues’ Stanley Cup rain or shine. It’s a pretty quick turnaround for a parade, but this city has been dying to cheer on a winner. Numerous former players are expected to be in attendance, and ‘Gloria’ will be played at least a few times in this glorious scene.

Two Eastern Conference foes have decided to swap defensemen as the Philadelphia Flyers have traded Radko Gudas to the Washington Capitals for Matt Niskanen. Washington has cleared up much needed cap space with the deal, while Philadelphia has acquired a defenseman that can provide a spark on the offensive end.
Caps are still trying to re-sign trade deadline pickup and pending UFA Carl Hagelin so yet another reason for the cap space clearing. They've got a bunch of expiring deals. Needed more flexibility

One of the reasons Washington needed space is because the Capitals are looking to re-sign Carl Hagelin and some other players that are set to become free agents on July 1. Hagelin was acquired from the Los Angeles Kings in February, and he provides some grit as one of the members of Pittsburgh’s old HBK line. His last deal was worth $4 million per year on average.
