Boxing Odds: Keith Thurman Defends Title Against Luis Collazo

Saturday night features several lines up for boxing, led by the “Premier Boxing Champions” broadcast on ESPN2 that is headlined by WBA World Welterweight champion Keith Thurman defending his belt as he takes on veteran Luis Collazo.

Collazo once held the belt, but that was 10 years ago, and Thurman is slotted in as one of the “PBC” series possible future break out stars.  Thurman held the interim version of the WBA title, but he cashed it in for the official world title back in March when he defeated Robert “The Ghost” Guerrero on the very first PBC broadcast.

On the west coast, Golden Boy is on HBO Latino with a headliner of Mauricio Herrera fighting Henry Lundy for the vacant NABF Super Lightweight title.   There are several other bouts on the card that may get attention at the books, including the Melinda Cooper (23-2) vs Carolina Arias (10-1) for the vacant WBO World Female Bantamweight title.

Not to be outdown over in England, Frank Warren and his Queensbury Promotions are in the Velodrome with a fourteen fight card.  Three of the matches are already getting lines at the sport books, led by the Terry Flanagan vs Jose Zepeda Lightweight bout for the vacant WBO World title.  With British stars Liam Walsh, Billy Joe Saunders and Jack Catterall all on the card, several other fights may pop up at the books as well.

Check out our latest video blog where we review the lines for boxing for the weekend of July 11.
