Boxing Odds The Week Features International Fights – This week is full of boxing odds, with Saturday the 23rd being the big day on the calendar. There are also odds for fights on Tuesday and Friday that we review in this latest video blog.
Tuesday night, April 19th, sees the Premier Boxing Champions at the Sands Bethlehem in Pennsylvania with their ongoing “Toe To Toe Tuesday” series. The main event comes in the Lightweight division as Ukraine’s Ivan Redkach (19-1) faces off against veteran Luis Cruz (22-4). Redkach took the first loss of his career in June of last year when he was stopped by Dejan Zlaticanin in four rounds. He won a bounce back fight in October and is looking to make it two in a row here in a match against the veteran Cruz, who has lost four of his last seven matches.

The Orion Theater in Eastern Cape, South Africa sees Friday, April 22nd’s main event of Simpiwe Vetyaka vs Tsuyoshi Tameda getting a look at the sport books. Vetyaka put an end to Indonesian fighter Chris John’s WBA Featherweight title reign, sending the long-time top gun into retirement with a 48-1-3 record. He lost the belt in his first defense, in China against Nonito Donaire when he was stopped inthe fifth round. Now that Vetyaka (28-3) has a taste of international competition, he wants to get himself back into the world title picture. He fought just once in 2015 and he is looking for his 3rd win in a row since the loss to Donaire.
Tameda is an interesting opponent. At 22-years -old, he is 13-1-2 and it is unusual for a Japanese fighter still developing to get a chance to fight outside of Japan. He has been fighting pro since he was 17 years old and his lone loss came nearly four years ago, and with 11 KOs in his 13 wins, he has power and will be looking to end the fight early. Even with a loss, Tameda may be a fighter to watch in the future, as he is being given a rare opportunity by Japan’s boxing powers.
