CFL Odds: The 2014 CFL regular season begins in less than a month with the British Columbia Lions listed as the favorite to win the Grey Cup. They are slightly ahead of the Calgary Stampeders and defending champion Saskatchewan Roughriders. Let’s take a look at all nine of the teams, and yes, there are nine teams this season with the addition of the Ottawa RedBlacks and the Week 1 schedule.
British Columbia Lions
The B.C. Lions begin the season as the slight favorites to win the title in 2014. They will be getting Travis Lulay back from injury and they added some insurance in the off-season as they acquired Kevin Glenn. The 2014 Grey Cup will be played at B.C. Place Stadium and the Lions would like to do what the Saskatchewan Roughriders did last season and win the title in front of their home fans.
Calgary Stampeders
This team had the best record in the league a year ago but they laid a big egg in the playoffs against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. They are the second choice in CFL betting to begin the 2014 season.
Saskatchewan Roughriders
They are the defending champions but it is extremely difficult to defend in the CFL and they begin the season as the third choice in the betting.
Hamilton Tiger-Cats
The T-Cats just missed out on winning the East last year. Perhaps 2014 they will get over the hump.
Toronto Argonauts
This team surprisingly won the East last year at 11-7 and they should be in the mix again this year.
Montreal Alouettes
It was no big surprise that this team struggled last year but better times could be ahead in 2014.
Edmonton Eskimos
This team went 4-14 last season so the only way is up for the squad in 2014.
Winnipeg Blue Bombers
It was ugly last season for Winnipeg as they won just three games. They should be vastly improved in 2014.
Ottawa RedBlacks
The new team in the league will begin play in 2014 and they may not be your average expansion team. They have some talent on the roster including veteran Henry Burris at quarterback.
