Denver Broncos GM John Elway may be ready to embrace a full rebuild, according to CBS Sports. Elway, who refused to make any trades at last year’s deadline, is reportedly considering an overhaul of the roster, and NFL GMs hope that Von Miller could be included.

Miller is one of the best pass rushers in the NFL but at 30 years old, he isn’t getting any younger. It wouldn’t make sense for the Broncos to keep him around while they go into a full rebuild. It’s for this reason that other teams have started reaching out to Elway to inquire about veterans such as Chris Harris, Emmanuel Sanders and Derek Wolfe.

Despite being winless and having a roster with aging veterans, the Broncos do have young talent to build around. pass rusher Bradley Chubb is likely the future anchor of the defense, although they lost him to a torn ACL this season. Receiver Courtland Sutton has steadily improved and has the potential to be featured in the offense for years to come, and the team is hoping that Drew Lock can replace Joe Flacco sooner rather than later, although he is also done for the year with an injury. A rebuild could be the chance to shape the team in new head coach Vic Fangio’s image.

Denver is looking to get their first win of the season heading into Sunday’s matchup against the 2-2 Los Angeles Chargers.
