Brooklyn Nets – Los Angeles Clippers Preview – 02.29.2016

The Brooklyn Nets will travel to the Staples Center to take on the Los Angeles Clippers. Action begins at 10:30 pm ET on Monday, Feb. 29 and will air on PRI and YES.

The Clippers defeated the Kings 117-107 on Friday. Chris Paul was a key piece, recording his 26th double-double of the season with 40 points and 13 assists. The Nets, meanwhile, are coming off a 98-96 win against the Jazz on Saturday. Thaddeus Young led the team in scoring with 21 points on 10-for-16 shooting.

Paul has been playing at a high level over the last five games for the Clippers. During that stretch, he has averaged 25.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 11.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.8 three-pointers.

When evaluating effective field goal percentage, the Clippers could have a healthy advantage on offense. They’re ranked fourth in the league in that category at 52.0%, while Brooklyn’s poor effective field goal percentage defense is ranked 29th, allowing opponents to connect at a rate of 52.3% this year.

This will be the second matchup of the season between these two teams. The Clippers won the first game 105-100. Paul finished with 15 points and 14 assists.
