Brown Bears vs Providence Friars NCAAB Prediction

The Brown Bears visit Dunkin’ Donuts Center to take on the Providence Friars. The game begins at 7:00 pm ET on Saturday, Nov. 21 and can be seen on FSN.

The Friars barely escaped Illinois 60-59 on Wednesday. Ben Bentil fueled the Friars, recording his first double-double of the season with 18 points and 12 rebounds. The Bears, meanwhile, are feeling some disappointment after their 75-66 loss at the hands of Niagara on Wednesday. Steven Spieth led the team in scoring with 15 points.

Providence is a considerable 14-point favorite in this game and the Over/Under (O/U) is 143 points. The Friars have gone 2-0 Straight Up (SU) and 1-1 Against The Spread (ATS). Teams have a tough time keeping Providence off of the offensive glass. They rank 48th in Division I in offensive rebounds. Few teams in the nation have a higher assist-to-turnover ratio than Providence, which ranks 27th at 1.73. Crossing over to the defensive side of the court, the Friars are the 26th-best team in the country at taking the ball away from their opponents, averaging 10.0 steals per game.

Across the court, the Bears haven’t been a good bet ATS so far with a record of 0-2 to go along with a 1-2 SU record. Teams seem to consistently miss three-point shots against the Bears, who are the 41st-best team in the country in terms of three-point field goal percentage allowed at .250.

This is the first meeting of the season for these two. The last time they played, Brown came out on top, but the win was not enough to overtake Providence in the head-to-head series. Its record is now 3-7 SU. However, with a 6-4 record, Brown has the advantage ATS.

Predictions: SU Winner – Prov, ATS Winner – Brown, O/U – Over
