Last week when Myles Garrett made the decision to slug Steelers’ quarterback with a helmet at the end of Thursday Night Football, unprecedented waters were entered. Now an organization is left to move on without it’s best player. Furthermore, they have to comment on the situation.
Therefore on Monday, head coach Freddie Kitchens says he’s still in support of Garrett. Honestly, what else can the head coach say?
#Browns HC Freddie Kitchens on whether he thinks Myles Garrett was provoked: "Everybody here saw the tape. I'm just here…I'll support Myles. I'm not going to get into that, but you saw the tape."

First, Kitchens says he knows his player is a good person. Then, he adds that the organization refuses to pile on and kick Garrett while he’s down.
“Myles Garrett’s a good person,” Kitchens said. “We’re not going to pile on Myles. He had a bad lapse in judgment and that’s it. I’m still a Myles fan and I’m going to support him. Our organization is going to support him, his teammates, coaching staff will support him.”
Despite the criticism, Cleveland knows they have an asset in Garrett that will completely depreciate if they compound the situation by lack of support. Without question, they are doing the only damage control move possible in being the team that owns him; given the fact that they won’t be releasing him.
Still, the positive words from the coach doesn’t mean that Kitchens supports Garrett’s actions.
“There’s no excuse for that to happen on a football field,” Kitchens said. “I know that. Myles knows that. All the players in the locker room know that. That’s it. There’s no excuse. But, in saying that, we’re going to support Myles Garrett going forward in any way that he needs support.”
Finally, Saturday Night Live had a little fun with something that should not be funny. Moreover, these things happen when you end up in the headlines for the wrong reasons.

Undeniably, Garrett will not step on a football field again until at least 2020. We will have more on this story as it develops.
