Undeniably, Monday mornings during football season just need reserved for Cleveland Browns wreckage recaps.
Furthermore, during the game their two leading receivers were ordered by the NFL to change cleats at halftime. Then after being beat handily by the Denver Broncos, a whole bunch of things happened. Still, it’s tough to sum it up better than Michael Lombardi did with a tweet following their game.
The Browns have no one in control. When the players do want ever they want is not a team but chaos. Absence of leadership is no leader.

First off, safety Jermaine Whitehead tweeted at fans and media members alike. Equally important, he threatened to fight angry Browns fans and also made a threat to a media member. The tweet – since deleted along with his suspended account – read the following:
“Imma kill you b—h,”
Obviously, that wasn’t all Whitehead tweeted. Here are all of the deleted tweets, captured by whom else; the internet.

Now, that’s no way to endear a fan base or media member to your 2-6 football team, now is it. Following that, the Browns’ digital media manager got involved to issue a statement. Notably, how many NFL teams have a digital media manager doing damage control on a Sunday evening after a game? My goodness.

However, we are not finished. Remember, we last heard from Odell Beckham at the tail end of the week. Indeed, Beckham was talking about limiting negativity and ‘going into the fire’ with struggling quarterback Baker Mayfield. Now, things seem to have shifted.
“I can’t get the ball to save my life” – OBJ while walking off the field after that failed 4th down according to Jay Feeley.

Several sideline reports have Beckham reportedly complaining about his lack of usage.

Finally, after you’re finished tallying up the side items for Cleveland that are a problem and unrelated to on-field actual football; there is of course the result of their game to discuss.
The Browns lost 24-19 in Denver, in a game most fans will be happy to say Baker Mayfield threw a touchdown without an interception. Still, Mayfield was steadily out-played by a guy named Brandon Allen making his first start for the Broncos. Moreover, Cleveland entered this game as four-point road favorites. Without question, this was a game Cleveland had to have; and that based on pure talent they should have won.
In closing, one must wonder after some 20 years of destroying the career one talented college player after another, and every big-name player who enters town; why can’t anything seem to work out for the Browns?
There is probably more than one decent answer, but one thing is clear. Cleveland has never been further away from turning things around.
