On Sunday night, the Boston Bruins became the first team to force a Game 7 in a Stanley Cup Finals since they did it eight years ago. During the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals, Boston overcame a 3-2 series deficit by smashing the Vancouver Canucks in both Game 6 and Game 7 to win the franchise its first Stanley Cup since 1972. The Bruins are hoping that history repeats itself, and they are halfway there following a 5-1 win over the St. Louis Blues in Game 6.

The Bruins scored early in Game 6, and they put the game away with a bevy of goals in the third period. Brad Marchand scored Boston’s first goal on a 5-on-3 power play, and the Bruins potted four in the third to pick up the 5-1 win and force Game 7.
Only five goalies have ever played 20 or more playoff games in a season with a save percentage above .940. Tuukka Rask is on his way to becoming the *first* to do it twice. Quick, Giguere, Kolzig, Thomas each did it once.

Tuukka Rask has been outstanding throughout this postseason, and he is a lock to win the Conn Smythe if the Bruins win Game 7 on Wednesday night. Rask stopped 28 St. Louis shots last night, and the Bruins’ all-time leader in wins has the Bruins on the precipice of earning the city of Boston its third title in four months.
Bergeron spoke. Marchand scored. And Rask slammed the #StanleyCup’s case shut in St. Louis.
Next time someone tells you experience is overrated, remind them that the last time a team won without a previous Cup winner on the roster was the 1989 #Flames:https://t.co/D3R5A7RKTw pic.twitter.com/utVufNNITV

Five players from the Bruins’ 2011 Stanley Cup winning roster are on this year’s edition, and they have played a pivotal part in the team’s championship hopes this year. Rask has been incredible in net with a .938 save percentage this postseason, and Marchand, Patrice Bergeron, Zdeno Chara, and David Krejci have all played pivotal roles.
Mishap happened Tuesday on the ice … another player's skate blade cut through Krebs's cut-proof sock and into his Achilles tendon. Underwent surgery for partial tear Friday in Calgary. Full recovery expected, according to agent Kevin Korol. No timeline yet. https://t.co/Ih6zS4OWV1

Potential first round draft pick Peyton Krebs suffered a scary injury just a couple weeks before the NHL Draft. The worst was avoided, but Krebs will likely be sidelined for a few months and that could affect his draft stock.
