At the start of the AAF, it seemed being a NFL minor league would be a natural fit. But now it looks like the league will die before a second season.
The AAF may die before first season ends | PFT
We may have already seen the end of the Alliance of American Football. With majority owner Tom Dundon acknowledging that the league might not only be done before season two, but might be done right now, the rest of the league and its TV partners are left wondering.
CBS is left in a particularly scary situation as the AAF was set to have a game before coverage of the Final Four on Saturday, but that game might not happen so how does CBS fill hours of programming?
Answers should be coming soon whether or not the rug will pulled out from under the AAF.
Patriots add to Bennett deal | ESPN
In a rare move by the New England Patriots, the team has agreed to new terms to defensive end Michael Bennett’s deal.
ESPN’s Field Yates reported Tuesday morning that Bennett and the Patriots agreed to a two-year deal with a base value of $16.75 million and a $4 million signing bonus. The move does clear up a chunk of cap space for New England to the tune of $700,000.

Cowboys extend Gregory | PFT
The Dallas Cowboys will continue to give defensive end Randy Gregory every chance to play in the NFL as it was reported Tuesday by NFL.com’s Tom Pelissero that the Cowboys have extended the suspended end’s contract to 2020.
Dallas converted $310,000 Gregory’s 2019 salary into a signing bonus and added $735,000 plus extras into another year.
The Cowboys are hopefully Gregory will be reinstated in 2019 from his fourth suspension.
A day after acquiring Robert Quinn last week, the #Cowboys quietly extended suspended DE Randy Gregory’s contract through 2020. $310K of existing 2019 salary converted to signing bonus. Added year worth $735K, more with escalator. Team has stayed hopeful Gregory plays in 2019.

Seahawks selective this offseason | Seattle Times
When it comes to spending money this offseason Seattle is spending on itself because GM John Schneider said Monday that the team will be “a little more selective in how we approach free agency.”
A plethora of players have already left the Seahawks, including safety Earl Thomas and the team only has four draft picks going into the 2019 NFL Draft.
Schneider also indicated that the team would be looking to make a move on draft day.
“It’s safe to say (the team will look to trade down),” he said. “But it’s a darn good draft, so I could see a very good player being there for us at 21…”.
The Seahawks have been awfully quiet in free agency — and John Schneider says that's by design. @bcondotta story: https://t.co/tYfgYU9umb
