The Memphis Tigers (2-2) square off against the Canisius Golden Griffins (1-3) in the AdvoCare Invitational at HP Field House. The game starts at 1:30 p.m. ET on Friday, November 23, 2018, and will air on ESPN 3.
Canisius Golden Griffins vs. Memphis Tigers ATS Prediction
The Golden Griffins are hoping for a better outcome after their 83-56 loss to the Villanova Wildcats in their last game. Villanova’s rebounding was their biggest strength. The Wildcats had 18 offensive rebounds and 51 total rebounds, while the Golden Griffins had seven and 24, respectively. Isaiah Reese was the top scorer from either team with 19 points on 6-for-17 shooting.
In the Tigers’ last game, they got blown out by the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 84-64. Getting to the charity stripe was one of Oklahoma State’s biggest advantages. They made 26 trips to the line, while Memphis went 19 times. Memphis’ Jeremiah Martin recorded 10 points and five assists in the game.
The Golden Griffins have had records of 22-14 straight up (SU) and 17-17 against the spread (ATS) since last season. Vegas has been fairly accurate when predicting totals of Canisius games since last season with 16 overs compared to 16 unders.
The Tigers, meanwhile, have records of 23-15 SU and 14-15-1 ATS since last season. Games involving Memphis have had no tendency in regards to the projected point total over that same stretch as there has been an even split between games finishing over and under.
It could be a mistake-prone game for the Memphis offense. Since last season, Memphis ranks 290th in the nation in ball protection (turnover percentage of 20.3 percent), while the pesky defense of Canisius has forced the 28th-most turnovers in the NCAA (21.9 percent).
