Carl Froch favored vs. George Groves on Saturday in London

Boxing Odds: About 80,000 fans will be in attendance at Wembley Stadium in London on Saturday to watch the fight between Carl Froch and George Groves. The bout will be for Froch’s WBA and IBF super middleweight titles. This will be a rematch of their fight last November that Froch won by 9th round TKO. Froch was fortunate to win their last fight as he was hit hard by Groves but Froch was able to land some big shots in the 9th round and the referee stopped the bout. Let’s look at the rematch and the current boxing odds.

Carl Froch -165 vs. George Groves (rounds 10.5)

Froch has lost only twice in his career and comes into this with a record of 32-2 with 23 knockouts while Groves is 19-1 with 15 knockous.

These two had quite a fight the first time and the expectations are extremely high for Saturday’s rematch. Both fighters are extremely confident for this bout. “If I was a betting man,” Groves said, “I’d say this will be the end (for Froch’s career).”

Froch definitely underestimated Groves in their first fight but that seems unlikely to happen again.”I gave him the advantage in the first fight, allowed him to get comfortable and let his shots go,” said Froch, “I couldn’t have performed any worse in the first fight and I don’t think Groves can pull out another performance like that.”

This fight at Wembley is one of the top ones in British history. The last time a fight was held at Wembley was in 1995 when Frank Bruno beat Oliver McCall. That fight didn’t get this type of build up. The only fight that was on par with this one took place in 1963 when Muhammad Ali took on Henry Cooper.

Boxing Predictions

Froch shouldn’t take this fight lightly and I think he is the better fighter. It is hard to see him doing any worse than he did last time against Groves and he still won. I will lay the small price
