Hoping to extend their flawless record, the Temple Owls (5-0) travel to take on the Central Florida Knights (0-6). The game starts at 7:30 p.m. ET on Saturday, Oct 17 and will be available on CBSS.
In last week’s matchup, Temple easily got past Tulane 49-10. Robby Anderson had a quality performance in the victory, pulling in four receptions for 73 yards and one TD. UCF is hoping for a different outcome after losing big against Connecticut 40-13. Nick Patti had a solid performance for the Knights, grabbing six receptions for 58 yards and one TD.
A close score is not projected this week when the Knights, a big 18-point underdog, take on Temple.
Sitting at 5-0 Straight Up (SU) and 4-1 Against The Spread (ATS), the Owls will look to improve heading into Week 7. UCF’s offense will need to use all of its options against the 10th-ranked Owls run defense, which gives up 96.6 rushing yards per game. An important aspect of the game will be if the Knights can fend off Temple’s ability to take the ball away. The Owls currently rank 19th in the nation with 2.2 turnovers per game. In the third quarter, Temple is a tough test, putting up 15 points during the third frame. With the eighth-highest time of possession per game at 34:20, expect Temple to control the clock this week.
As for their opponent, the Knights have shown flaws all year and are 0-6 SU and ATS. Passing the ball is important for the Knights. They attempt 40 throwing plays per game. Moving on to the UCF defense, it has some favorable matchups that it may be able to take advantage of as well. The Knights’ run defense will be looking to pad their stats when they face off against the Owls, who rank 107th in terms of yards per rush (3.7). UCF has been good at avoiding penalties this season. The team only receives 4.3 per game on average, the seventh-fewest in the country.
Predictions: SU Winner – Temple, ATS Winner – Temple
