CFL Betting: Weekly Rundown For Week 15

CFL

Week 15 in the CFL kicks off on Friday night with a pair of games, and continues on Saturday with two more. The bye this week goes to British Columbia, who is in last place in the West division.

Saskatchewan Roughriders @ Ottawa RedBlacks

Odds: Roughriders -3

The 6-6 Roughriders travel to face the 5-8-1 RedBlacks, and this game is off the board right now as both teams have quarterback questions. Kevin Glenn needed to be replaced by Brandon Bridge near the end of their 15-9 loss to Calgary, while Ryan Lindley didn’t look good in his first CFL start in place of the injured Trevor Harris and Drew Willy, a 29-9 loss in Winnipeg. This is actually the first meeting of the season for these two, and Saskatchewan is 6-4 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10 meetings with Ottawa, winning and covering in both last season.

The Roughriders have been a shaky bet on the road this season as they are just 2-4 in away games compared to 4-2 at home. The good news for them is that the Redblacks have been pretty useless at home themselves as they are just 2-4-1 when playing in front of their home audience.

Pick: Roughriders

Montreal Alouettes @ Calgary Stampeders

Odds: Stampeders -17

The 3-10 Alouettes visit the 11-1-1 Stampeders, whose lone loss this season came in Montreal in Week 4 by a score of 30-23. Obviously, things have gone differently for both teams since then as the Stampeders have already clinched a playoff spot, while the Alouettes are in big trouble as they’re last place in the East, although still not completely out of it. Darian Durant has struggled in his last two games and was even replaced two weeks ago against Ottawa, then followed that up three picks last week against Toronto. Calgary’s defense has been incredible lately, and they know they have a bye next week. The Stampeders are 5-5 SU and 4-6 ATS in their last 10 against Montreal, but they’ll romp in this one.

This is a huge number but keep in mind that the Stampeders lead the CFL in points allowed and are second in terms of points scored. They have allowed just 231 points on the season; no other team has allowed less than 309.

Pick: Stampeders -17

Toronto Argonauts @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats

Odds: Argonauts -3

The 6-7 Argonauts are in first place in the East, but only five points ahead of the 3-9 Tiger-Cats, who are the hottest team in the CFL outside of Calgary right now. Switching to Jeremiah Masoli at quarterback has been huge for the Tiger-Cats, while the Argonauts have a great rookie running back in James Wilder Jr., who has combined for 475 yards rushing and receiving in the last two games. The Tiger-Cats have the upper hand in this rivalry, going 7-3 SU and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 meetings with the Argonauts, although they’ve split both meetings this year. Go with the hot hand and take the Tiger-Cats.

The Tiger-Cats are at home in this spot but this hasn’t exactly been much of an ‘advantage’ for them. This is a team that has just one win at home on the season (1-5). The issue is that the Argos are on the road in this spot and haven’t exactly been reliable on the road. They have collected just one win in six away games so far this season.

Pick: Tiger-Cats +3

Winnipeg Blue Bombers @ Edmonton Eskimos

Odds: Eskimos -2

The 7-5 Eskimos are coming off a bye and they get the 9-3 Blue Bombers, who are four points ahead of Edmonton after thumping Ottawa. The bye couldn’t have come at a better time for the Eskimos, who were reeling with a five-game winning losing streak after winning their first seven games, and hopefully they worked out their defense, which allowed an average of 37 points in those five losses. That’s not good news against Winnipeg, who has scored the most points in the league. Edmonton is 8-2 SU and 6-3-1 ATS in their last 10 with the Blue Bombers, who will win a close game.

The Blue Bombers are a healthy 5-1 at home this season. Meanwhile, the Eskies are just 2-4 in away games.

Pick: Blue Bombers +2
