CFL Odds: The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will look for their first win of the season as they host the Ottawa RedBlacks on Saturday. While this is a home game for the Tiger-Cats it is worth noting that they will not be playing at their new stadium as Tim Hortons Field isn’t ready yet. They will instead be playing at McMaster University on Saturday. Regardless of where they play, unless Hamilton starts getting some offense they going to continue to struggle. The team is dead last in scoring, averaging just 13.7 points per game. Let’s take a look at Saturday’s game and CFL predictions.
CFL Odds: Hamilton -4.5, total 48
CFL East Division is Struggling
Even though the Tiger-Cats are 0-3 this season they are not in bad shape in the East because the entire division is bad. The leader, if you can call any team a leader, is Ottawa as they are 1-2. Toronto and Montreal are each 1-3 and Hamilton is 0-3. It is still early and if the Tiger-Cats get a win this week they would be fine and they might actually be tied for first at the end of the weekend.
Hamilton Quarterback Issues
The Tiger-Cats thought they answered their quarterback issue when they signed Zach Collaros in the off-season. Their problem though is that he has a concussion and he didn’t play last week. He is listed as questionable for this game. His backups, Jeremiah Masoli and Dan LeFevour are terrible. The Tiger-Cats may be regretting their decision to let Henry Burris go to Ottawa.
Game Notes
Henry Burris and Chevon Walker will be very motivated to beat their former team on Saturday. Burris realizes his expansion club has a chance to compete this year. “We’ve fought our butts off all season,” said Burris. “Our defence has done a great job of keeping us in games. At some point, we have to pick our side up as well. Inside, I know we have to get better.” The last four Hamilton home games have all gone under the total and their last six games in the month of July have gone under.
CFL Predictions
We’ll look for a low scoring game and go under the CFL odds on Saturday.
