CFL Odds: The Calgary Stampeders are favored at home on Monday as they host the Edmonton Eskimos. The two teams are tied for the best record in the league at 7-1 so the winner of this game will take over first place overall in the CFL. There are four games this week in the CFL with Ottawa visiting Montreal on Friday, Winnipeg at Saskatchewan on Sunday and two games on Monday. Let’s look at all four games and CFL predictions.
Friday, August 29th
Ottawa at Montreal – Alouettes -6, total 46.5
The East Division is so bad that even though both teams are 1-7 on the season they are still in the race because the first place team is just 3-6. The Alouettes have yet to find a quarterback and this week they are turning to Jonathan Crompton. We’ll look for the RedBlacks to keep this close and have a chance to win.
Saturday, August 31st
Winnipeg at Saskatchewan – No early line
There was no early line on this game as Saskatchewan quarterback Darian Durant was questionable. The Roughriders have won five in a row but with questions at quarterback this could be a good spot to take Winnipeg plus the points.
Monday, September 1st
Toronto at Hamilton – Argonauts -2, total 50
The Tiger-Cats have played poorly but this is a game they can win and get right back into the race in the East. And it is not like the Argos can be trusted on the road. We’ll take the home team plus the points in this one.
Edmonton at Calgary – Stampeders -5, total 50
This is the game of the week and the first of a home and home as they will play next week in Edmonton. The only loss for the Eskimos this season came in late July to this Stampeders team. The Eskimos are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings in Calgary and the Over is 5-2 in the last 7 meetings in Calgary. This has all the makings of a game that goes down to the wire so taking the points is the way to go in this contest.
