CFL Betting: It is only Week 3 of the CFL season but the pressure is already on the British Columbia Lions to get a win as they visit the defending Grey Cup champions, the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Saturday. The Lions were the preseason favorites to win the Grey Cup this season but they have started poorly, losing their first two games. They will be road underdogs on Saturday against the Roughriders. Let’s look at the games for Week 3 and CFL predictions.
Friday, July 11th
Winnipeg at Montreal
The Blue Bombers have been a nice surprise early in the season as they have started 2-0. Can they stretch the winning streak to three? They get a tough road test at Montreal on Friday. Winnipeg has covered five of the last six at Montreal. I will take the road team in this one.
Ottawa at Edmonton (ESPN News)
The Eskimos have been the biggest surprise so far this season as they have started 2-0. Now they get a chance to go to 3-0 as they host the expansion Redblacks. I don’t think it will be easy though as Ottawa has some talent. I will take the points with Ottawa on Friday.
Saturday, July 12th
British Columbia at Saskatchewan
The Lions thought they had some insurance at quarterback with Travis Lulay out with injury but Kevin Glenn has not played well. He threw four interceptions in last week’s loss to Montreal. It doesn’t figure to get any easier for him on Saturday against the Roughriders. When these two teams get together they have played some low scoring games with 35 of the last 51 meetings going under. Five of the last six at Saskatchewan have gone under. I will go with the trends in this one and take this contest under the total in CFL predictions.
Calgary at Toronto
The Stampeders had last week off so they head into this game with a record of 1-0 while the Argos are 1-1. Calgary has struggled in Toronto recently, failing to cover the spread in five of the last six. Four of the last five in Toronto have gone over. I will take the Argos in this game and also go over the CFL betting total.
