Massachusetts just lost an ugly 63-24 game to FIU. The defensive unit let the Golden Panthers kill the clock by running for 329 yards on 53 rush attempts, including five rush TDs. Shawndarrius Phillips was a force to be reckoned with, putting up 117 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 16 attempts, along with 56 yards and a score on three catches for FIU. As a group, the Minutemen collectively completed 15-of-32 passes for 224 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Michael Curtis went eight-for-15 for 158 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while Ross Comis was five-of-12 for 60 yards. Marquis Young (83 yards on 13 rush attempts) and Jordan Fredericks (74 yards on seven carries) mounted the ground game in the defeat while Andy Isabella (four receptions, 43 yards, one TD) and Jessie Britt (three catches, 47 yards) led the receiving corps.
