Now it’s Monday. With a snow game involving Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs some two weeks before Christmas, do you think we won’t give it mention?
Indeed, you don’t know me well enough yet. While I don’t have NFL Sunday Ticket anymore; I was delighted to see this going on when the highlights panned to the Chiefs-Broncos tilt on Sunday.

Indeed, Patrick Mahomes did his thing; throwing for 340 yards and two touchdowns on 27 of 34 passing. It was the stuff of legend, and in just his second game in the snow (the other being the AFC Title Game last year); Mahomes looked like a superstar.
Equally important, he had as much fun playing in it as viewers had watching it. The Chiefs won the game handily 23-3.
“It was awesome. A lot of fun. The guys were embracing it. We knew it was going to snow. We practice in cold weather a lot. So you get there, you’re already accustomed to it, and you go out there and play.”
Furthermore, the Chiefs improved to 10-4 on the year. After looking like this could be a disappointing season; they have a chance to still be one of the impact teams in football with two weeks left in the regular season.
Finally, there’s not a talent in the sport more captivating then Mahomes; and perhaps fewer better stories. It just seems too perfect to get the Chiefs at home, rolling an opponent and throwing the ball all around as the snow falls during the holiday season.
This is what the NFL is all about, and it seemed no accident that the Football Gods provided it two us some two weeks before Christmas in 2019. With a little help from Mahomes, of course.
