The 2016 College Football Bowl Season

The 2016 College Football Bowl Extravaganza.

The College Football Bowl Season is finally here, and the College Football Playoffs have been set. The Selection Committee has spoken and the results are now in. The #4 Washington Huskies survived the elimination process and will be the first team to take a crack at the #1 Alabama Crimson Tide.

After the final week of the season, the #3 Ohio State Buckeyes were downgraded to a third seed and will face-off with the #2 Clemson Tigers. The Tigers were the third seed heading into the final week, but were upgraded to the second seed after their victory over the Virginia Tech Hokies.

The successful programs will settle their differences in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl on Saturday, December 31st at 7 p.m. ET. The winner will advance and play in the National Championship game in Tampa, Florida on January 9th at 8:30 p.m. ET.

The 13-0 #15 Western Michigan Broncos were also awarded for their undefeated season, getting a chance to perform against the #8 Wisconsin Badgers. The two schools will meet in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic on Monday, January 2nd at 1 p.m. ET.

The #5 Penn State Nittany Lions may have been left out of the College Football Playoffs, but will get their chance to shine one last time in the Rose Bowl. They will be matched-up against the USC Trojans, who moved up to a ninth ranking after finishing up the season with an eight game win streak.

Obviously, the PAC-12 champion will not be representing the conference in the Rose Bowl this year because the Washington Huskies made the College Football Playoffs.

The #6 Michigan Wolverines were also left out of the College Football Playoffs, but were rewarded for their stellar season with an invite to the Orange Bowl. They will be squaring-off against the #11 Florida State Seminoles. Florida State finished off their 2016 season by winning six of their last seven games, including a 31-13 drumming of their in-state rivals the #17 Florida Gators.

A thorough breakdown of all the match-ups for this season’s bowl slate will be available for your viewing enjoyment right here at Get More Sports. The College Football Bowl Game previews and predictions will be available soon, starting with the New Mexico Bowl in Albuquerque. The 41-game post-season extravaganza will continue for the next three weeks through the College Football Playoff national championship game scheduled for January, 9th in Tampa, Florida.
